I think the politics behind it make the VS important. The VS isn't some random soldier anymore. Being a Spectre is a pretty big deal. Especially a human one since there are only two and the other is on trial. I'd say the Alliance and Council both have quite a bit of attention focused on the VS. The VS isn't that important compared to Legion or Liara, but the VS certainly has more relevance than say Garrus.

Ohhh ok. So either Kaidan or Ashley, got it.

I'm guessing VS stand for Virmire survivor then? :P

Until this day, I can see ABSOLUTELY ZERO reason why Tali is so friggin' important for the series other than fanservice. Think about it. In ME1, all she had was some proof that exposed Saren as a traitor, but that was it. Why the hell Shepard took her along for the ride, I'll never know, but it's completely contrived. In ME2, I'm pretty sure there were quarians with better tech skills AND they were more on the 'indifferent to Cerberus' side, but why she got chucked with us happened via bad plot device. Seriously TIM, you're gonna put an emotionally immature quarian who hates you and your organization ON YOUR SHIP?! I'm pretty damn sure TIM is smarter than that.

EDIT: Same goes for Garrus as well. I have no idea why he constantly follows you around like your personal doggy even though he's fully capable of leading on his own.

Garrus yes, Tali no. Remember, TIM was the one who sent those dossiers.

ether  Accept it or don't play the game it's your choice but  complaining to us won't change anything or do you want everyone else to be as butt hurt as you?

The only ****ed up part about this all is that people who are sitting on their high horse seem to be forgetting it's the LAST... LAST game in the trilogy. If there were a sequel and the devs said don't worry Miranda, Mordin, Legion, ect will be back in action in the next game then at the suggestion of the more uncouth people on the forums I would simply "deal with it". Fact is THEY WON'T BE BACK BECAUSE IT'S THE LAST DAMN GAME.

Disclaimer: The caps were for emphasis, not rage.

Yeah the Normandy SR1 was Dark like some Evil War ship. The Normandy won't be the Same Either way. We're placed back in the Alliance Unwillingly. Why couldn't we just work on our own, neither Alliance nor Cerberus.

I got an idea, Complain when you actually play the damn thing.

Its still the same ship from ME2.  The alliance just changed it to suit there needs.  What they did to it exactly we don't know.  I just hope they kept that big gun I put on it.  Either way I prefered the lighting scheme of the SR1 but liked the bigger interior of the SR2.  The SR1 seemed a little small to be called frigate.

Umm, yes Tali too. T.I.M added her to the dossier list because she was part of Shepard's crew(just as Garrus was) and helped take down Saren. That kind of loyalty you cant buy and thats the kind of thing that makes a team strong. T.I.M knew that, he said it himself. Thats also the reason Garrus teamed up with Shepard again, they make a good team. Maybe you're new to the series so you havent noticed but one of the core features of Mass Effect is the bond you have with your squadmates(thats actually the core feature of any Bioware RPG). Plus tali has influence among the quarian ppl(maybe T.I.M thought he could take advantage of that) and when the time comes to either attack or make peace with the Geth, that DOES have an affect on the rest of the galexy.

One thing I'll never see a reason for is why ppl get so mad at video game characters.

Nope. For that aspect, we have Admiral Xen. And yes, I have played both 1 and 2 and I noticed that your teammates are pretty much everything. Still doesn't change the fact that their shoehorning into both games was just blatantly horrible.

Garrus and Tali will be forever looked at as the characters who stole 2 spots on the Mass Effect 3 roster.

I won't be recruiting either. Not because I don't like them, but because BioWare is trying too hard to make me.

Yeah, they ruined the Garrus mentor relationship in ME1 in order to shoehorn him into being Shepard's eternal sidekick.

^ The Miranda Thread is being distorted by very pessimistic people who are causing me to worry a lot. :(

And I don't like the fact that the Normandy has become another SR1.

Too bad, the majority of ME fans want the Normandy Blue and the majority of ME fans don't have Miranda in ME3 anyway.

The majority of ME fans most certainly do have Miranda - willingly or not - given that she's the single hardest squadmate to kill in the ME2 ending and you pretty much have to actively try to achieve it.

3 games, 2 sidekicks. And what Seboist said. Same can be applied to Tali except replace "sidekick" with "little sister action-girl".
