I think you mean "Objectivist". Anarchy is a system (or lack thereof, as the case may be) of government, not a moral code. One could be an anarchist and still choose to save the platoon.

Are you crazy? Garrus is worth more than a platoon of soldiers. He held off three of the largest gangs on Omega single-handedly! And he makes a lovely bed warmer. You're going to have to raise the stakes here, OP.

Is my LI a soldier?  What is that platoon doing at the time?  What's my Li doing?  What else is going on?  What's the tactical and strategic situation? 

Give me the exact scenario!  Give me details!  Because just on the surface of "LI vs. a platoon", I can't really answer.

Hm let's say you're in deep fighting the Reapers, you're LI is fighting with soldiers trying to start a weapon up to defeat a Reaper, you get seperated and you can only distract the Reaper long enough to either get your LI out of harms way or picking the soldiers up quickly and leaving your LI die. Is that better?

There is actually a choice similar to this (save one person you know, or a few dozen strangers) in "Alpha Protocol".

Well... if my LI is the one getting the weapon up and running then my job, and the job of the platoon of soldiers for that matter, is to is to protect her long enough that she can finish her work and kill the Reaper.  So, I guess LI in that scenario.

If, however, the weapon was already working  and the platoon  was doing something like holding a key position, then I would have to go with them to make sure they succeed.

The outcome was that whoever you didn't choose to save died, obviously.

Depends on if I'm roleplaying them as being in love or not.

If so then frankly the entire galaxy would loose in that contest, because that's just the way love works.

Anything else is just unrealistic.

I'd go with the LI in a hearbeat.

A bunch of random soldiers? There could be a million and I'd still pick the LI (Tali or Liara in my case) over that. Unless, maybe, the soldiers dying would mean that a planet gets destroyed which happens to have.. ehm.. Mordin, Anderson and Garrus all on it at the time.
Then I'd consider it.

Other than that, just ignoring the love aspect, I would value Tali and Liara as more significant than a bunch of soldiers personally.

Okay but seriously I probably would but only if I could afford to, and of course Ashley could be resentful that I let a whole platoon die for her. She was already filled with guilt over Kaidan's death, I can't imagine how she'd cope with a whole platoon dying for her.
