And then you get renegade points:devil:SolidBeast wrote...
Hm. It depends on the situation. If the platoon was absolutely critical to the mission and saving the LI would make Shepard fail, I'd have to let the LI die. On the other hand, if it was only a matter of not being able to get to one of them in time (like on Virmire), with no impact on the mission, I'm afraid my Shepard wouldn't be able to disregard his feelings and would do the selfish thing- save his LI.

...the platoon. Don't do the romances, and if I did, it wouldn't change anything anyway.

Miranda: Vital information on Cerberus. I'd choose her.
Tali: If she's exiled, I'd choose the platoon. If she isn't, I'd choose Tali. An important symbol of hope given her relationship to the now-dead admiral, her father.
Garrus: The platoon. He'd kill me otherwise, you know.
Liara: Foremost Prothean expert? Check. Shadow Broker? Check. Liara? Check.
Ashley: The platoon. She wouldn't have it any other way.
Kaidan: The platoon. Ditto.
Jacob: The platoon. 'Nother ditto.
Jack: Well lore-wise she's insanely powerful, so probably Jack.
Kelly: The platoon. Quirky woman, but not as valuable.
Thane: The platoon. C'mon, think about it.

In game my Shepard would save the soldiers because he's much more pragmatic.

As for my Shepard, eh. Depends on who the platoon was. They'd better be damn good at something to balance out whatever contribution the LI makes to Shepard's team. She generally doesn't make military decisions based on humanitarian reasons, and Garrus being alive and watching Shep's back is more useful than a bunch of grunts.

I'd save the LI. Tali in this case. If the LI is Jack, Miranda, Ashley or Thane I'll save the platoon.

Let's see, save one person who you can have sex with, or save 20 people whose families will be eternally grateful?
I mean, sex is great and all, but really. I'd rather save the 20 guys so THEY can go home and have sex with their significant other. Plus, what would your LI think about you giving up 20 lives to save him/her?
This.

For some reason I read the title as 'plankton'.
I have no idea how large a platoon is anyway.
Usually 16 men.

What if you had to choose between your biological father/mother and Tali?

This.
I tell myself they're not real in an effort to assuage any feelings of temporary guilt that might rear up. Makes saving the LI so much easier.

Well, I mean I guess it could differ as time goes on and nations merge and create a collective military. But generally speaking in the U.S. military a platoon sized element is roughly 50-60 personnel depending on that unit's load out and particalur role. Combat units typically lean to the larger side with 15 man squads plus your platoon commander and a platoon sgt.
But yeah, I save the platoon only if it can be done so without sacrificing more lives in the process. But if I have to lose people to save either, I'll take 60 > 1 any day.

Depends on the situation. As it is, this question is too vague to make a good decision.GhostCamaroX75 wrote...
If you had to pick who would you rather save? and should the decision be Paragon or Renegade? Personally I would save my Liara over soldiers any day!
