Only been lurking for two weeks before making an account so I've never seen that guy, but from the sound of it he must have left a really painful mental scar on you, enough to make you break into a paranoid fit whenever anyone mocks your character obsession .

If this "Tinktank" fellow really is permabanned then its a pity, because I would love to have seen the jabs he took at you.

The LI, at least in the first playthrough if such a scenario arises.  Subsequent playthroughs will be role-played a bit more.

If it was real life the question would be more difficult, but hell, it's a game and there are no actual negative repercussions from being extremely selfish and saving the LI at the expense of billions of others.  Same reason I saved my doggie in Fable 2.

I'd save Liara. I have no question in my mind that it would be Renegade, but I've stayed with her through 2 games now, even through that bout of ****. I'm not letting her go again! T_T

My Shepard wasn't hazed like I was. But I still wouldn't leave the one woman I've ever loved behind. Me in real life...I'd pick my girl over my best friend. That's just the way it is.

Wait if this is my Shep who is "romancing" Miranda that Shep would Save the Platoon as he was only interested in doing a hit and run on Miranda, so this is a great way for him to dump her over a radio transmission

Miranda: "Shepard don't leave me here to die"
Shep: "I won't be able to come back for you"
Miranda: "Then let the platoon die and save me! Shepard we have something, I..... I.... Dammit your gonna make me say it you @ss.... Shepard... I..  I Love You "

i'd save the LI, hell ,i'd even prefer to save random Normandy crewmember #8, as long as it's someone i know i'm choosing them

depends on a Shepard, actually. some would save LI. others would save a platoon. most would attempt to save both.. few would attempt to save neither.

Depends on which LI, size of group and the situation at hand. 20 random soldiers whom I have no attachment to or the Shadpw Broker...no contest. A ship filled with soldiers, weapons and intel that is both valuble and irreplacable vs Tali? Thats a different scenario. In most forseeable events, any of the LIs are more valuble than a group of soldiers, since, you know, tey can either kill groups off themselvs, have a ton of experience or have some sort ofimportant politcal influence. In my case (Liara and Tali), Id choose the LIin almost every instance - but Ill be honest, it would be an emotional response and logic would come later. The situation, though, could vary.

it depends on the importance.
if by leaving the platoon to die means we lose earth or something like that,
then i would sadly let my LI die.

if it was just a random platoon, then i would surely save my LI.
