Body shaping sliders for character customization. Do you think that could be possible?.

Few online games have this option: Aion (tweaked CryENGINE
1), Champions Online, Second Life, or really insane character customization in
the coming All Points Bulletin (Unreal 3 engine):

After digging into animation formats, I dont see any morph support except for faces but perhaps the face morphs are flexible enough. The MOR files look promising as the morphs work directly on the face MSH files so other MSH should be possible. I think those morphs may be capable of altering body meshes the way you want but it would be mesh specific not something that could be applied to any set of clothing for example. And I'm not sure how the slider would work unless it just iterates through say 10 different options and its my understanding that the UI is not very modifiable so adding a screen with sliders may be difficult.

Could that be scale animation keys for certain bones (or
group of bones)? In case there is a single skeleton file for all clothes/armor
(like in Oblivion) manipulation of this skeleton might affect shapes of all in
game meshes for the race or in the best case scenario particular character, PC
or NPC. I guess something like that is realized in Morrowind where it is
possible to change race height/weight once with two clicks in the editor without
working on a mesh level for every cloth/armor.
