women on the other hand, want men. What kind of man you ask? Depends on what the lady is looking for. Some want money, some want good looks, some want the first guy who'll hold on to them and never let go.

I don't know, but I imagine shedding your preconceived notion that all women care about is money and good looks would be a step in the right direction.
Well, 3 out of 4 women will marry for money, so it's kinda hard to let go of the notions you know may very well be justified.
These types of studies annoy me to no end. You can't possibly make such a bold claim as "3 out of 4 women will marry for money" based on nothing but a small sample group.
Being the cynic that I am, I see an agenda behind both the article itself and the blogger who posted it. The blogger obviously feels "threatened" by the advent of feminism and the decline of male dominance in relationships and abroad, and found a random article to justify that "threat."
The actual article is nothing but a typical piece of sensationalist journalism, in the vein of something you'd read in Cosmopolitan or some other trash magazine of that sort. It not only "justifies" this false notion that all women care about is money, but also promotes materialism to the more gullible members of both sexes.
Everything in the media has an ulterior agenda behind it, my friend, so you'd be wise to take what you read with a grain of salt. They're not there to educate the public and keep them informed: they're there to make money, advertise and sell products, and propagate certain concepts and ideals to the masses.
And no more.

I checked the numbers. They check out. I didn't believe it when I first saw it either.
And the guy is an ass, no doubt. But it irks me.

If you say so.
The irony is that the more this notion is reinforced by the media and spread among the masses, it will become somewhat of a self-fulfilling prophecy. Repetition is the mother of all learning, and the more this tripe is repeated, the more people are going to "learn" it.

Maybe yes, maybe no. Time will tell. I doubt one sensationalist study will change a cultural precedent. And I doubt one set of ideals will do so as well.
Sensationalist or no, it irks the living hell out of me.
It just gives me this feeling, like the type of person I am ultimately won't matter at all. I could be the world's biggest ******. I could make Jesus look like a selfish butthole. And neither would matter if I did or did not have the almighty paycheck. It just makes me think all of the repeated chats on faithfulness, dedication, discernment, unselfishness and character mean nothing. Ah hell, it irks me.

No criminal record
Have a steady job
Be mechanically inclined
No whining
No irritating me
No bothering me in the morning
No i'm not in the mood, so don't ever ask
No touching things that belong to me
No calling me incessantly
I am always right
etc.
I have a huge list really. Most guys can be trained though. My fiance was always bugging me with the phone so I just started either a)hanging up on him or b)turning the phone off. If he doesn't like it, oh well, there's a door, you can leave any time.

Truth be told, any person who only seeks out another for their money is likely a sociopath, and is incapable of feeling any kind of affection towards another person regardless (or being affected by the affection others show them). They're only interested in using others for their own personal gain, whether that be money, status, or for some other mundane purpose.
And last I checked, 3 our of 4 women aren't sociopaths.
And just because someone says all they care about is money, doesn't make it true. Human nature is more complicated than that, and whether we realize it or not, we want more than mere material wealth (which is a desire more cultivated by our society than by our inherent nature) and always will.
I could go into some existentialist rant about how mankind will never be satisifed with its own existence because what we truly seek is beyond our reach, and may in fact not even exist, but I'll refrain from doing that. It's a pretty depressing subject.
