Interesting fact there; more educated people actually tend to have less children, and are more likely to have none at all.

Also: hella rude tbh

You're a pathetic bastard. You're one of those douche bags who think they can have every ****ing woman they please because they are so   "Bad-Ass."

Get the hell out of my face. I'm done with people like you who treat others like crap.

Actually I haven't had a proper date yet, and I'm happy to admit that.

But you sir infuriate me so, with your constant lack of reasoning and intelligence!

And you disgust me. Yu may say such hateful crap, but you won't break me. Nice try, but no dice.

So there's this car.... that runs on water.

Runs on water? Instead of Gas, or instead of roads?

Doc owns the prototype Jesusmobile that's set to replace the Popemobile in 2013 (y'know, after the end of the world).

Oh, Yeah? I'll bet I still won't be able to connect to the onboard bluetooth.

I really don't understand the argument for "no kids," I mean its a preference thing and all, but its more or less the reason of existance (procreation), the only thing I can think of is lack of desire to, or own selfishness (themselves first as opposed to as lame as this will sound, species or ability to bring new life into the world). Then again I certainly believe that a lot of people SHOULDN'T be parents and if they think themselves incapable I fully respect that.

Really? The purpose of existence is procreation? Says who? Whom do I owe it to to spawn? God? Sorry, not a person of faith so that doesn't work..... the human race? Why? Besides the species is growing exponentially and the species will reach a critical mass (fresh water & arable land) within the next century at current growth rates, so they don't need me producing children for the species to survive.

Most women feel a biological urge to have children - many choose to obey that urge in their genes, some don't.... I've never felt the urge to have children and when I look at or think of children I feel no compulsion to produce and nurture my own at all.

Your statement that procreation is our purpose in life is...... well, sad.

Oh, snap! Telling it like it is! You go girl!

Makes religious accusations *golf clap* its quite contrary, also stable population growth is based on the environment, we have not reached that said threshold in many regions of the world, and nature itself handles that, but is that what you are considering when you abstain, I doubt it.  Then what is our purpose, this is our genetic existence, to pass on our material, to see too it that the future. This is science, or if you subscribe to religion a similar fallacy. the same logic applies.

May I note lack of education coincides with your decision?

So human beings are just baby-making machines? What a great purpose.

Generally income based, which again is associated with education (so you make a valid point), but not necessarily (I can source many mainstream media people as example). And not to sound like a hippie/communist, but wealth for the sake of wealth or fulfilling one's own desires, isn't exactly in line with my whole arguement.

"Rudimentary creatures of blood and flesh."

As I said in the second part of my post, there are a lot of people who simply shouldn't be parents, so I mean if the individual came to this conclusion and decided not too I full well understand (especially in cases where they are financially unable to support raising a child, talking holistic perspective here in world). Additionally what elevates humans to a superior status in terms of entitlement, its a philosophical question which if you subscribe to the notion of evolution (some people don't), we still have a purpose as a species, which is survival (achievement of stable population, by reproduction or lack thereof, not ones own desires).

But if purely as a 1 partner objecting, such as figure saving objection for females or a money saving one for males, I find it to be somewhat idiotic, especially if its something that would have the relationship terminated over. Its like, "oh I love you, but I don't want to have a child with you, I love myself too much for that, I won't make concessions or consider them or alternatives."

From a practical standpoint, there is no need for all humans to procreate. The population is quite stable as it is (some would say the world is actually overpopulated), so the survival of our species is in no way threatened in this regard.

And I don't think it's unreasonable at all to end a relationship over something like that. Having kids is a huge commitment, and is not something to be taken lightly. And conceding to a partner to have kids anyway when it's not your inclination to do so is a big mistake.

But the worst part is that no matter what the couple decides, one of them isn't going to be happy with the outcome. So it would be better then that that relationship come to an end, as it wasn't likely to last in the first place all things considered.

At our most fundamental level yes. Progression of species, procreation is our genetically imbued function, this even applies to HOW we select partners based on favorable qualities for good offspring (lots of research to this effect). You can fabricate whatever other purpose you desire, or assign one to yourself, thats more into philosophy which I try not to touch. Regardless I've made my point, if you feel the need to continue to discuss it further be my guest, but I can't see what can be added.

You're (horribly) under the assumption the human race is in danger due to lack of population... the species at current growth rates is set for mass starvation in approximately 1 century due to lack of fresh water and arable land to provide for such a massive population -- millions, if not billions will die from starvation, lack of water (and disease due to those shortages) in the next 100-150 years if we keep growing as we are... the species is exploding faster than than our resources will be able to support it.... the species doesn't need me and every other woman on earth having children to support it's continued existence.... how does having me or possibly even millions of other women who don't want children harm the species? It doesn't... if anything I'm doing it a favor by not creating another person that needs food, water, shelter.

..... on a non "practical" note, if I decided to ever marry I'd rather be "selfish" (by your suggestion) and focus all my attention, energies and time being happy with a man I love... not having children would mean I have more time and freedom to be "selfish" and focus on happiness with that special person (naturally said person would of course have to want the same thing or it would never work, duh).

The species population would continue on just fine (and continue exploding as is, sigh) whilst I lived my theoretical child-less life with my husband.... not sure why you're panicking about the human race's population because I and perhaps even millions of other women decided to do that (you do recall there are now over 7 billion people on earth... right? 55% of which are women... so settle down).

EDIT: thread is a mess, I'm out.

All women want at the end of the day, is a candle lit room, Roses everywhere, and a man to sweep them off their feet, hold them tightly in his arms as he stares deeply in her eyes as she quivers at the meer sight of him. Then for him to lean in, and kiss her tenderly, and whisper "Lets have sax tonight" And then play the saxophone all night long.

Just doing a quick reply before I walk out because you replied earlier and I missed. Its about genetic variability as well, population volume and survival is based on "survival of the fittest," and going back to the educated persons argument, its almost our responsibility as educated individuals to procreate, to pass on in nature (NvN), the genetics which could predispose the offspring for success (variable in meaning now). Who knows you could give birth to the next Einstein, which could advance the human race by leaps and bounds, again nuture comes into play. Without many of the great minds in the last centuries, due to increased genetic variability (increased probability of one great person, due to increased population). As for the weak, they die or contribute little and will pass. Progress is purpose.
