I'll be punching her. It's tradition.

Ah, then it's alright. Because it's just the way things are, and that makes it acceptable.

It's a freaking game, his statement his correct, Alji is a punch bag in the game, in reality I prefer words over violence, in the game even my paragon Shepard has punched her.

I think you missed a bit of context.

There are better lulz to get in the game and punching her just makes Shedpard look like an unprofessional jackass.

Instigating a fight with (or in this case, assaulting) someone who is physically weaker than you are is stupid.

Assaulting someone in general is stupid.

Most Renegade interrupts make sense in the 'you're about to fight these people anyway, might as well get the first shot' sort of thing. Killing Sgt. Kathka before he fixes the assault ship was an excellent case.

In fact, that one could have been even better as a superficial choice of sorts. Imagine if Garrus only got scarred if you didn't sabotage the gunship? And if you did, his face was fine?

Since the conversation about the face only comes up once, meaning only one reworded dialogue sequence, you could have had a game-long 'consequence' from a minor choice.

I don't think you should have too significant/long term consequences coming off an interrupt of any type.  Since you lack information about the choice you're making.  All you really know is that it's renegade/paragon.

I agree, mostly, but it was an example of a relatively mild consequence.

If we really wanted it, I'd have made it so that the choice to sabotage the mercs or not were their own moral choices. Sabotaging the IFFs on all the Eclipse mercs, for example, would make them target eachother... but also trigger a mech rampage through the district with civilian casualties. Etc.

Then having a majority of the mercs sabotaged would make the fight easier and leave Garrus unscarred, but would have significant collateral damage to Omega.

No I haven't punched her and I wouldn't punch her for the reason below.

No I wouldn't punch al-Jilani. Not only is it stupid and vulgar, but she's the only Mass Effect character (well there is Zaeed Massani) with an Arabic sounding name and I dislike what they are doing with her.

David al Talaqini died warning Shepard of the geth on Feros. Granted, his death was almost as hilarious as Jenkins'.

Yea I feel so represented.

Although it's just a video game, they have taken the punching the reporter joke too far.

I tend to agree with this. I think it would hilarious if al-Jilani tazered the hell out of Shepard if he/she tries to punch her a third time.

Tasering a soldier with kinetic barriers, armor, at least one firearm, and the potential to be legally exempt from the rule of law seems like an incredibly stupid thing to do.

Will not hit a woman. Period.

I'll happily make Al-Jilani hang herself with her own snide insinuations and disengenuous asserstions though.

I understood your point and ignored it. Regardless of how trite repeatedly committing battery against a member of the gutter press is, your proposed countermeasure is silly.

Yet to punch her, even though I punched whatshisname in ME1 on Eden Prime because he wouldn't shut up (Still shocked they dropped the connection in the ME2 DLC. Sad...)  But yeah, I usually save it before talking to her, and use all three options (I save A LOT, just to see what I could of done) and out of the three, I think I messed up in ME1, because I told her about Saren, then Admiral got pissed at me via voice chat on the Normady.  Reloaded to give her a renegade response shutting her out.  In ME2, I did a paragon response because she called me the "Hero of the Citidel" and not an ass.  Felt like it was going to go a long way in my fight against the Reapers, maybe public opinion would be a little better. I mean, Earth has 2 reporters from what I've seen. By doing the first's assignment and using a paragon on al-Jilani, both are on my side. Maybe the news will help me in my fight...

Wishful thinking, I know. Might just clock her in the face with my omni-blade this time around since at this point, I could care less.  I don't need to prove myself to her anymore... Hmmm... Guess it depends on the renegade response. lol

It's been tough. It's been REALLY tough. I think that she deserves a fist to the face in both of her interviews, the second one even more so. But the fact of the matter is the questions that she asks need to be answered and justified, on either a paragon or renegade level. It's for the good of the Alliance viewing public.

But if BioWare has any heart it will let Ms. al-Jilani show up for one more interview in Mass Effect 3. And when she does, she's going to be on the receiving end of a punch that was three years in the making.

The best part though will be Shepard's one-liner after she goes down, though. I imagine it would be:

"You have NO IDEA how long I've wanted to do that! How does that floor taste?"

And then Kalisah will call me a son-of-a-**** and threaten to show the whole Alliance that footage. And I'll laugh at her.

For discussion: if your canon Shepard hasn't punched Kalisah yet, will you do so in 3? And if you do, what do you imagine Shepard will say after the punch?

I find it much more satisfying to see her humbled (read: humiliated) on her own show, than to punch her in the face.

ITT: let's punch a woman in the face because she's stupid.

1. You don't punch women in the face
2. If you'd make a rule out of punching stupid people for being stupid, you would most likely not live past your teens.

You know that thing we call freedom of speech? Yeah you know one of the basic pillars of democracy? Yeah that one.

Reporters should ask tough questions, questions that al-Jilani does. Shepard is the not king of the universe nor is he above the law ( not even as a Spectre ). I find it extremly stupid to punch her when Shepard can use the press to portray himself possibly for the people of the Galaxy ( you think when trying to unite a Galaxy the press will be worthless? LOL ).
