I make inch deep imprints in her skull in both games for my Paragon Shep, because he disagrees with her blatantly racist views. My Renegade Shep shares those views and simply explains away any bullsh!t she comes up with for that stupid show of hers.

1. Al-Jalani isn't a combatant. She's a reporter. Not wanting to hit her isn't the same as not wanting to hit a female slaver who's firing at you.

1. As I said, I do not hit Al-Jilani. Nor do I hit Manuel back on Eden Prime in ME1.  This is because both of them are non-combatants. None of it has to do with gender. As far as I can tell, we're agreed on this, so there's no need to be telling me.

2. It's chauvinism when you refuse to hit a woman just because she's a woman. There's a difference between hitting a woman because you're a dick on a power trip and hitting a woman when she is doing something that you would hit a man for doing. I'm not judging when it's okay to punch someone and when it isn't, but if you're going to hit someone at all for something you feel they are deserving of, at least be indiscriminate about it.

Punching al-Jilani isn't out-of-bounds purely because she is a woman, however, a division that should be considered...

Shepherd is a trained soldier, in a period when genetic augmentation of soldiers is considered as routine as vaccination is now. Al-Jilani is, even at her most irritating, a civilian, and possesses none of the physical or chromosomal advantages Shepherd would. We are talking about a Marine, and a combat veteran of some years' service, flying off the handle and striking a journalist - it is both a breech of military discipline and a seriously questionable decision.

However, my own Shepherd has been known to push people out of windows or summarily immolate them. So there's that. Seems to me that insinuating that a heavily armed, decorated war hero (complete with a license to do murder at will) is a coward or a traitor to humanity is a questionable decision in and of itself.

Lol. It's just a chance to live vicariously in a game. Just like pushing the sorry Merc out the window. Makes little sense but it's fun. And some people just deserve to punched, that goes for the ladies too. ( as long as another lady is doing the punching)

Well, her job is sort of disgusting.

And, no she isn't actually a "nosy b*tch." That's her JOB, to go to interviews and rile up the interviewee (?) and make them say or do somethey they'll regret. It's done today, and people do not go around punching reporters on television.

My renegade Shepard was the only one to punch her. She has the colonist background, so the first or second time I came back to the citadel I had to do the side quest with Talitha (whom Shep managed to save) and then immediately ran into al-Jilani. I don't normally like punching her, but it seemed like it made for a more interesting story, so I did it.
