Lets face it, the majority of the community beleive the DLC charecter will be a *PROTHEAN* (myself included). But for discussion's sake lets just say that is not it.

also try to take into account that all Mass Effect DLC will be carried over to ME3, so who do you think the ME3 CE squadmate will be?

Rumor has it your speculation is plot relevant and therefore not optional but part of the main game.

I'm thinking the *               * is too plot integral for CE DLC. He/she is most likely the secret character and someone else is the promised DLC.

Nah. That guy is an integral part of the story, but that doesn't mean he has to be an available squadmate.

Could be like this:
Vanilla-ME3 without DLC: character is only available as squadmate in certain plot relevant missions where his presence is required (like Liara in LotSB).

CE-ME3 / ME3 with DLC: character is a permanent squadmate as soon as he joins the crew. He can be used in any mission.

I'm sure it's something like that.

may be a batarian, they seem rather popular for a squadmate

*highlight to read* well the prothean already had some lines in the leaked script, so there might be a possibility he is just a normal squadie. and that is the same with EDI. *end highlight*
so from the knowledge from the leaks lets say the the script is only for normal components of the game, and the art book only contains the normal elements aswell.

for me that would leave room for a batarian squadmate, or maybe a raoli. (which we may have seen in mass effect: conviction)

raoli would be quite interesting, seeing as they are the 'new' newcomers in the galaxy, as they try to improve their own standing in the galaxy as humanity did. and the mission might  be a diplomatic problem when the roali try to do something that is not acceptable or which the council doesnt agree with such as when human tried to use the mass relay and the turrians stopped them.

It's Zaeed of course. You didn't need to have him in ME2 but got him anyway if you bought the game new. Kasumi was true DLC and had to be bought separately.

At the very least make him available as an optional character if your Shepard was fabulously wealthy and can afford his kind of contract.

Since Prothy seem's very plot relevant I doubt he's the DLC so here's hoping it's a Krogan, some random Batarian, or an ME2 squadmate (seriously doubt it but I can hope)

If it was Blasto I'd take my hat off for Bioware.

It deffinately was Prothy, it probably still is, but it may not be.

We'll know for sure within a month once someone steals a finished copy of the game. If Prothy isn't in the vanilla version, then he'll be DLC.

Aria. Since secret squadmates 1 and 2 are already integrated into the main story, and because of how Invasion ended.

Two asari on the team? Who are both adepts? Really?

I am hoping to dear life it's a batarian. "From Dust" makes sense given the curbstomped nature of batarian space in ME3.

Basing on "From Dust" title, I'd say it's Thane. "Everything is dust" is one of his battle lines.

Why would Thane get DLC content when no other ME2 squaddie does?

Plus, the guy's not at his best anymore.

I already know who it is like a lot of people but I'd like to have Urz as the dlc character. If Hawke gets a real puppy my Shep wants one too (not that stupid metal one).

David Silverman already said that the DLC character would be avaliable to everyone so I assume its something that may be integral to expanding the plot
