Tears FOR Fears. They did the original, but the Gears of War version everyone knows was done by Gary Jules.

Easy solution to that. Don't visit this topic. No one forces you to read every single, possibly idiotic post someone's made in these boards, you know.

The other solution at hands is, even though I hate how it's used inflationary: Deal with it. People will always be doing stupid stuff. I am since long time no onger surprised by the amounts of idiocy I run about, even in my mostly "almost-academic environment" as student. If you can't take it all, you should prolly steer clear of these forums to begin with.
