funny thing in my country I can get the CE shipped from the US with delivery costs and taxes included and it still costs the same as the regular edition (my country has similar pricing to Australia, about double the regular price).

Also its true, Chris said they were running out like three months ago if you wanted it you should have ordered sooner.

Post to this thread if you can't pre-order the collector's edition like you've wanted.  Also, some feedback from bioware on possible allotment increases would be appreciated?  Where can I get the CE now?

Best Buy, Wal-Mart, Target, Toys R Us, K Mart. Did you even look? There's thousands of copies still out there.

I have 3 preorders and two of them were placed after everyone said they sold out. Just look around.

Had mine pre-ordered since June.

this is me as well. back when it was first announced you could order it. I basically had mine on Order.  Already told my girlfriend that this is one game I've been waiting for for months and she's lucky she's not here for when I get it. Because I will be playing ME 3.

Depends on the system.

360? tough find (was able to get it from BB with in-store pickup a few days ago)

PS3? Most places still have it

PC? Amazon is out but many places still have it

I can't use any of those stores; they all sell the game in NTSC format and I live in the UK, which uses PAL format that is incompatible. I've also tried looking for region-free items but come up empty...  everybody on ebay is selling it for more than double the pre-order cost (because they can't be arsed to let normal people buy games)!

They really should have a way to purchase the 360 CE through Origin Store.  If you try to order any EA-branded game from here it's a joke because they're only prepared to sell everything digitally now for PC - before that they only still sold PC only anyway, while the North American store sells for all platforms physically and digitally.  EA must think Europe is not as important as where it was produced.

I'd still love to hear from Priestly about my question - no offense to other users here, but unless you work for Bioware/EA your perspective is of no benefit to his earlier statement.

They did sell the 360 version through the Origin store.  They still have the normal version available through their store for pre-order.  The CE for the Origin store except for the Digital Copy has been sold out since about the end of December give or take.

I propose a petition not to produce any more CE's, it just diminishes them as "Collectors editions"

Just for information - our country's main retailer, still has them and according to their sales team, they "ain't gonna sell all of them at the current rate". So if anyone is in Europe, mostly continental EU, I may know a source... (I am not posting anything that would help to identify the exact store, don't wanna be hunted down for ad placement)

Also, this. It's Collectors' Edition. Yeah, I know, I got my ME2 Collectors' Edition (going with the apostrophe, ME2 players know why) a year after it was released due to one local retailer being awesome. But still - it should be limited. If the quantities of pre-order CE will prove too low, make some special DLC for those who "did the run" and just re-relase the CE later, giving you more money and giving something to brag about to us.

To be honest, I don't really get this. It appears this is the case with quite a few games: the CE runs out and is sold out during the pre-order period. Come launch, and Amazon suddenly has 10+ NEW copies waiting to be bought. This happened with Gears of War 3, Forza 4, Dead Space 2, Dues Ex: HR Augmented Edition, etc. etc. etc. All of these can now be found at Amazon both used and new, and they did sell out prior to launch.

I don't really see why ME3 should be any different, despite what BioWare says. I also remember seeing the ME2 CE at my local game store shortly post-launch (I think they had three copies or so).

My preorders were all 360. Not a tough find. Just not available at amazon or gamestop. Many major retailers still have it.

As a customer i find this type of marketing disgusting. You are well aware of the popularity of your game so you purposely play with the supply and demand hype.
You should be ashamed of yourselves for not being able to provide quality service to your community and consumers. I will no longer purchase Bioware products, nor will I continue to be affiliated with the corporation through social media services.
It's been fun and I've had a blast. But it seems since you partnered up with EA the quality and care that I had come to expect from this gaming company has gone down the drain.

Not sure what type of marketing you are referring to, and no there is no "playing with supply and demand". As the product marketers, we want the publishing arm to make *mountains* of these and sell them. The problem is, they contain a lot of long-lead production items (in this case the tin in particular has to be ordered months in advance). Because of the long lead time, publishing has to order the CE's based on demand calculations that happened a long time ago. There is also risk-aversity in the sense that neither store owners nor EA want to get caught with unsold inventory (which, believe it or not, can happen if you make too many).  Keep in mind, we work with the stores to figure out how many to make as well. We don't just lick a finger and hold it up in the wind :)

I know it's hard to believe but marketing people aren't nefarious and evil (ok, maybe some are...but that goes for any profession) - for my part, I truly wanted to make sure there were plenty of these to go around, including some on the shelves when the game releases. When I came here a long while back to suggest preordering because supplies would be limited, the accusation was I was just the marketing guy trying to scare people into preordering. Not so. The reality is we end up basically negotiating internally to try and get as many of these made for preorder as possible. With ME2 we were WAY under, and it sold out very early. This time we were successful in getting a much larger quantity made, but yeah the demand still outstripped the supply.

There is a good chance there will be some of these reserved to be put on shelves for customers at some stores, but I can't say for sure which ones those would be (it's not our decision, it's the retailers'). Best bet is to inquire around at local shops.

The digital CE is also available on Origin if you are a PC player - granted, you don't get the physical items in that.

There's also a bit of news coming that may take some of the sting off for those who didn't manage to preorder this SKU.

I truly wish anyone who wants a CE could get one! Unfortunately there are not going to be any more made - it's a one time run.

I can vouch for this personally.  My store still has Assassins Creed Brotherhood Collectors Editions.  That game is more than two years old at this point.

quick question . . . . why do you want the CE? is it the "extras" (the N7 patch, artbook, etc) or the "secret" character, b/c you can get the "secret" character day 1, i think you just need to pay for it

Wow, I can't believe that you are complaining.

It was announced AGES ago, they said that stocks are limited and running low AGES AGO.

Should have gone in sooner.

Of course people are complaining. As consumers in a higly competitive market we deserve better treatment.
There is no acceptiable excuse to why Bioware has ceased pre-order production of their N7 edition other than to manipulate supply and demand thus causing more "hype" for the game.
Your comment is silly and immature. if you have no valid information to add than do not post in this poll.

It's a COLLECTOR'S EDITION! It's supposed to be in limited supply.

Why people's orders are getting cancelled is a little wrong, they should have taken a head count before haulting production, but people have got stop moaning about missing the deadline!

Do you guys really think that EA would short supply something that they could sell? I know a lot of you seem to think you understand supply and demand, but you don't. They want to sell as many as possible to make the most amount of money. This didn't even really overprice them that much, only about 20 dollars more so i'm pretty sure they put as many in production as they could. If they priced it higher than it would have made sense for them to make less for "demand" but the price is very reasonable.

EA/Bioware are not laughing in their leather seats at your suffering. They want your money and they want you to buy their CE but they don't have any more to give.

How am I as a consumer suppose to trust a company that hypes multiple versions of a game but doesn't allow you to purchase them. The very same company that supports and allows its developers to masqueraded as average players to up the ratings on certain websites.
A company that talks about imagination and artistic freedom but caves to media pressure on adult themes.  This is a company that is agaisnt the selling of "used" and "rented" games (we should all be) but then cuts deals (exclusive content) with the same major chain store(s) to maxzimize profits... I don't want something to take the sting off of not being able to purchase my CE I want something to take the taste out of my mouth when i look at your companies recent track record.

I am more annoyed that I got my pre-order in with Amazon for the 360 CE and they aren't offering the pre-order bonuses to the buyers of the CE that they are to the standard edition. Which is to say, they are offering bonuses for the standard. The CE? Nothin'. Gamestop and Best Buy are offering the same bonus for either edition, but something probably got screwed up in a computer somewhere at Amazon headquarters, and now those who preordered from there aren't getting a preorder bonus. Sucks. Contact Amazon CS and maybe if there's enough feedback they will double check what they are supposed to be offering. I contacted Bioware as well. Hopefully it will get changed.

This is what they sent me when I asked to recieve the same preorder bonus as the standard edition:

"I've researched this promotion, and see your order didn't meet all of the qualifications for receiving this promotional offer. Specifically, because this promotion is not applicable for ASIN: B0050SYZS0. I see that you have placed your order for ASIN: B0050SYZS0. This promotion is applicable only for ASIN: B0050SY06W.

Restrictions for promotional offers vary, but the details for specific promotions are available on our website.

So, If you would like to avail the promotional benefits you can go ahead and cancel the pre order and place a new order for ASIN: B0050SY06W. In this way you can receive the pre order bonus code and $10.00 Promotional credit.

I hope you will understand our limitations."

My gosh, what planet are you living on? Why are you trying to make a victim of yourself? an annoying one at that. Every publisher is doing retailer exclusive content now. You just sound silly. The rest of the stuff you're claiming has nothing to do with anything.

Well, the PS3 version of the Collector's Edition gets from Amazon:

Pre-order Mass Effect 3 Collector's Edition and get the M55 Argus Assault Rifle [watch video]. The M55 Argus is an excellent close-range weapon as its bursts of fire ensure ammunition conservation during lengthy conflicts. Other law-enforcement agencies across the galaxy are adopting the Argus as their standard rifle, as much for its intimidation factor as its suppression power. The code to access the M55 Argus Rifle will be emailed to you within two days after your order ships. Offer valid when shipped and sold by Amazon.com. This offer will be extended to all existing pre-orders. Limit one per household. Amazon reserves the right to change or terminate this promotion at any time.

Interestingly, the PS3 CE gets the rifle but not the $10 credit.

The Xbox 360 standard edition gets:

Pre-order Mass Effect 3 and get the M55 Argus Assault Rifle [watch video] and a $10 promotional credit toward the purchase of items shipped and sold by Amazon.com (certain exclusions apply, including but not limited to Kindle books, Gift Cards, and Amazon Appstore for Android apps). We will send you a $10 promotional code via email within two days after your order ships. The code to access the M55 Argus Rifle will be emailed to you within two days after your order ships. Offer valid when shipped and sold by Amazon.com. This offer will be extended to all existing pre-orders. Limit one per household. Amazon reserves the right to change or terminate this promotion at any time.

Just to be clear, the people getting their pre-orders cancelled are people who did it online right? Because I pre-ordered mine in-store at EB games in Canada and paid in full. That should mean I'm solid right?

There's plenty of collector's editions left. Only certain places are sold out because they're the most popular. Don't sweat it, just visit your local stores or their websites, it's never too late despite all this "omg preorder 20 years ago like I did" attitude. And there's always deal makers after the fact. I got my ME2 collector's edition for $40 on ebay :P
