That money would've gone to another game entirely if it didn't go to ME3 MP. After all, the game was obviously delayed because of multiplayer, whether they admit it or not.Slidell505 wrote...

I'm against wasting resources on MP too, but since they gave MP to another team it doesn't look like that happened.
Making MP cost money, that money could have gone into making ME3. How can people not put this together? EA had a budget for ME3, part of it went to multiplayer instead of singleplayer. It's simple math.
Multiplayer is a complete waste of time in a single player RPG.

Granted I dont know GAME production budgets, As i work in the automotive industry, but judging by the production budgets of MOST things I know of, having one doesn't preclude the other. In fact, more than likely, with the addition of MP more $ was made available to get the job done over the standard SP budget.

EA wants mulitplayer. EA gets multiplayer.
For you there are two options.
First option: Do not buy the game and EA may get the message. But EA's plan to lure in even more Call of Duty fanboys by adding multiplayer may succeed.
Second option: Buy the game. EA won't get your intended message and their plan to lure in even more Call of Duty fanboys by adding multiplayer may succeed.
But arguing with the Bioware fanbois here is a waste of time.

I've said before that if after putting in everything they wanted into the single player game, they gazed upon their work and went "Huh, we still have nearly 2GB lefttover. What else can we fit in here?" Then yeah, fine, include MP as an extra.
But I haven't heard that used as a reassurance for this decidedly controversial decision. Have you?
No, but I have yet to hear the contrary.

I personally am just as hyped for MP as SP(and that is saying alot, since the Mass Effect series is my favorite game series)

After ME2's lousy story and DA2's rushed work, I need a bit more reassurance than that.

Also I would like to point out that I am completely aware of the hours and hours of my life I've wasted whining about videogames on the internet.
I'd be completely embarassed about it if I had an ounce of shame in me.

Well, that depeneds on he age of the leaked beta. If it was indicitive of the current state of ME3, I'd say ME3 was about 65% finished.

Indeed. I feel ME2's story was better in every department, and while many disagree with me, we can all agree that ME2's character stories were leaps and bounds beyond what ME1 had.Cainne Chapel wrote...
ME2's story wasn't lousy, not as say... far spanning as ME1 no, but HARDLY lousy.

The point is, I have a specific concern about the addition of multiplayer impacting the single player game in a negative fashion. And this concern has not been addressed at all.

ME1 had a decent story, ME2s was bad. It was better than most videogames, but that's not saying much.
