Personally i had to kill her. Even on my paragon favoured playthroughs. I understand she did not commit acts her speices did but i could not risk the reapers  indoctrinate one rachni queen and turing the so called lucky promise that in me3 you will get an army of rachni to fight for you.

The four times I've played through ME1 (okay, five--I did one character twice), I've let her go. Implications aside, I'm too much of a touchy-feely baby to drown her in acid.

And I got sooooo close in my last playthrough, too, but I was like BAAAW CAN'T DO IT THIS IS SUCH A CRUEL AND NASTY WAY TO PUT HER DOWN AND SHE'S SUCH A COOL LADY!!

Honestly, I'd kill her IRL.

Never done it in-game, though. I am admittedly a softie.

Yeah, I couldn't bring myself to commit genocide. Maybe if there were a few thousand more of them I would have gooshed her, but I would've felt like a jerk.

Poo-poo on me if we all end up getting our faces eaten by singing bugs in ME3.

First time I played the game, I admit I did. "EWWBIGUGLYSPACESPIDER!SQUISH!" Okay, so maybe I let my arachnophobia go a little too far. But, I haven't killed her since.

I conjecture that Bioware will make saving or destroying the Rachni go both ways for either choice, depending on an "additional factor."

In other words, saving the rachni could result in them being allies OR in them being indoctrinated and turning on you, depending on another factor like other choices.

And destroying the rachni could result in saving the galaxy OR losing a potential ally, depending on another factor.

This way all sides are happy :)

I usually kill her. I don't like sleeper agents.

Besides, with this full scale war and the Reapers in the Galaxy, what's to say they won't try to indoctrinate them again?

Even in many of my paragon playthroughs she dies. I don't see it as genocide I see it as maintaining the status quo.

I killed her, because she was a bug.

Pretty much the way I did it.

If you let her live, which I did, you get a message from an Asari about her in ME2. On Illium. So far she has kept her word.

There's no doubt that Rachni are the creepiest creatures in the Mass Effect universe, though.

Seeing a mother who has had her children taken away from her and turned crazy, locked in a cold cage too small for her to turn around in, ask for freedom is too much for me to say no to. She knew the errors of her ancestors and she was the one who suffered for it. Instead of turning to hate, she gained wisdom from her experience. I can't kill her.

This. I've done a few Renegade playthroughs but I still haven't been able to muster the manliness to killer her.
I'm in the middle of a new renegade Shepard and am planning to melt her, but I don't know if I'll be able to do it.

Mostly this for me too.

She was not responsible for the actions of her ancestors.  Hell, her ancestors weren't responsible for the actions of her ancestors.  She has done absolutely nothing to deserve being killed.  If anything, she's a victim.  She has had her children taken from her, had information ripped from her mind, and still doesn't hate those who did it to her.  I can't help but feel that those who kill her can't look past the Rachni wars and her appearance, and kill her solely based on that.

And the idea of killing someone because they could get indoctrinated is asinine.  Why don't we kill Joker?  He could get indoctrinated!  Why not Garrus, or Tali, or Liara?  Why not assassinate the president of the Alliance?  What about that random bystander?  Indoctrination is no special danger for the Rachni instead of anyone else.

I dont think the greater good is taking a chance. I would kill one to save millions.
