Thank you.  No one 'hired' me.  It's what I actually believe.

So basically, if someone kills a young woman, it's genocide because she had the capability to produce offspring?

It's only genocide if you kill the last fertile female in the world. Otherwise it's just murder.

Any thing that results in the extinction of a race = genocide.

I spared her, to see how it would affect the galactic war. Also not one for genocide.

I killed her because I (my Shepard) didn't know anything about her beyond the fact that her species was dangerous. After all, she was locked up in there with heavy security for a reason. He couldn't just release her into the wild on her word alone.

Trusting something which almost destroyed the galaxy centuries prior on it's word while you're essentially holding a gun to it's head isn't in my nature.

Killed her, on my main playthrough. Given the option, I would have turned her over to the Council so they could decide, preferrably after waffling about it and taking precautions and all the rest of it. But I certainly wasn't just going to turn her loose. If I let her loose and the same thing happened again with the rachni, then what were the krogan uplifted and then given the genophage for? All so Shepard could screw up. Too much of a risk, no reason to trust her.

Why did you accept Spectre status if you weren't willing to do your job? I knew humans weren't ready for this responsibility!

That's what the Council would say, anyway.

Because she/it could be quite a valuable ally in the fight against the reapers.

I killed her because the rachni creep me the hell out and I didn't want to have to deal with them in ME3. Also, they're bugs, I squash bugs.

My shep had a feeling the reapers were behind the trouble, so she lived. Besides... balance of nature. They'll help keep the Krogan population down once the genophage is cured. xD

I keep her alive in most of my playthroughs. Worst comes to the worst the species is indoctrnated again. Wow. Not really a big threat when you have an armada of Reapers...reaping the galaxy.

Also I'm not one for genocide without reason. If the Rachni had attacked Earth I would have killed her to make sure, but they didn't. All Shepard knows is that a few thousand years ago there was a massive war between the Rachni and the Council. They are not a threat to Shepard or Earth when you meet them.

Ooo, now I don't feel bad about curing the genophage.

I let her go because the creature hadn't done anything to me, asked for mercy, was obviously a victim of mad scientists, and decried the historical aggressive Rachni.  I try to put myself in the other's shoes - would I really want to be judged by all the violence my ancestors had committed? Or would I want to be judged on my own merits?

I always let her go, I could never annihilate an entire race, and I also was thinking that she could be a possible ally against the Reapers :-)

Generals gathered in their masses

Just like witches at black masses

Evil minds that plot destruction

Sorcerers of death's construction

In the fields the bodies burning

As the war machine keeps turning

Death and hatred to mankind

Poisoning their brainwashed minds

Oh lord yeah!

Politicians hide themselves away

They only started the war

Why should they go out to fight?

They leave that role to the poor

Time will tell on their power minds

Making war just for fun

Treating people just like pawns in chess

Wait 'til their judgement day comes

Yeah!

Now in darkness world stops turning

Ashes where the bodies burning

No more war pigs have the power

Hand of God has struck the hour

Day of judgement, God is calling

On their knees the war pig's crawling

Begging mercy for their sins

Satan laughing spreads his wings

Oh lord yeah!

Personally i had to kill her. Even on my paragon favoured playthroughs. I understand she did not commit acts her speices did but i could not risk the reapers  indoctrinate one rachni queen and turing the so called lucky promise that in me3 you will get an army of rachni to fight for you.

When was it mentioned that the Rachni were indoctrinated? All the Rachni queen said was that her races songs (voices/thoughts) were discolored (tainted/mind-controlled).

It was my understanding that this was Cerberus' doing and not a Reaper. After all, the rogue rachni's were found in a lab - not on a Reaper vessel.

I spared her, I'm not going to kill an entire race just because of something that has happend in the past. If it turns out that sparing her will bite me back in the ass then I'm fine with that.

Killing a defenseless person or creature goes against my morals.
