  Okay, two weeks ago I bought, downloaded, and installed ME1 from Origin onto my PC. After playing it for like 30 min, I uninstalled it [through the launcher] because the resolution sucked and I didn't know at the time that there were "hidden" arrows that allowed me to find a better resolution. I then purchased ME2 and played that and just used the interactive comic to suffice for not playing ME1.

However, I found out how to improve the resolution so I decided to give ME1 a go again. So I re-downloaded it on Origin to play it. So I downloaded it and then on Origin it says "Ready for Install" I click the icon and nothing happens. After much exploration, I decided to look into ProgramFiles - EA Games - Mass Effect and then found that there was a ME1 Launcher. I click on it and what do you know! ME1 plays.

So you're probably wondering whats the problem right? I have the game up and playing! However, I just want to make sure that it is safe to play. The game [ME1] is on my PC and I can play it, but on Origin, it still says "Ready for Install" and everytime I click it, nothing happens. So would this effect me later on? I don't want to play ME1, beat it and then get to ME2 to try to import my character only to see that there is no ME1 file ever there because according to Origin, my game was never "installed".

So yeah, is everything is safe considering that ME1 is there and able to play, but on Origin, it is still listed as "Ready for Install"

All save files are/should be under (my)documents/Bioware/masseffect/saves IF you are getting saves in that location or something very similar then don't worry and enjoy the game.
If you don't get saves, then you can't save or import since you are actually just transferring special end saves from ME1 to ME2.
