So there's been plenty of Leliana > Morrigan or Morrigan > Leliana or Alistair > everyone but Dog threads, but how about the voice actors?  Who was it that really gave a character its definition or just pulled you in?

I'd of course have to start with Peter Renaday's Duncan.  His voice just meshes so nicely with the character.  I mean, the guy talks like he's got a huge beard between him and you, which, of course, Duncan does.  Especially liked his apology during the Joining; it sounded quite heartfelt, despite what was going on.  AND he was Master Splinter.  All he needs to do is voice Optimus Prime and he's officially cooler than Jim Cummings.  OK maybe not quite, but CLOSE!

Second is a minor character, but awesome nonetheless: Steve Blum's Gorim.  Blum provided the voices of both Gorim and Oghren, and while his work on Ogrhen was great ("Nope.  Been savin' em."), everyone just loved Gorim from the moment he handed you your sword (speaking Dwarf Noble origin here).  He doesn't give him the ornamentations he gives Oghren, but that's what makes him memorable.  He just plays Gorim like everyone's best friend and with enough sincerity to make you believe he may very well be.

Third isn't quite voice acting, but Aubrey Ashburn's vocal work on the soundtrack was just phenomenal.  True, this owes largely to Inon Zur's brilliant score, but Ashburn's voice was absolutely perfect.  Her voice is pretty much the first thing a person hears when starting their first character generation, and even one musical phrase tells the player so much about the game's atmosphere.  Rich without being overblown and melodic without being dainty, she's a truly excellent performer.

Finally, from the depths of Orzammar: Dagna, voiced by… I have no idea.  Honestly, she is the essence of youthful enthusiasm.  I just don't even know what else I can say about her, other than that without her I don't think anybody in any circumstance ever would have string together the words "cute dwarf girl."  And she pulls it of just by sounding adorable.

So, those are my picks.  What would you folks say?

Flemmeth's VA suits perfectly. And unfortunately that is a bit of an insult to the VA.

I swear we've had this thread before.

Claudia Black. She's arguably as good as Jennifer Hale, best female voice actress in the industry.

The moment I heard the Dallish leader speak in the Brecillian forest, I instantly had images in my head of Tuvok the Vulcan (Tim Russ).

Flemmeth's VA is very good.

There is also something about Isolde, while she can be quite annoying, her voice and accent is strangely very attractive to me.

Morrigan wins hands down for me. All the voice acting of all the main characters is top notch though and really helps bring out the characters' to personalities. There are some ropey voices mainly from incidental overheard conversations but they are few and far between.

I like Corinne Kempa's work as Leliana a bit more than I enjoy Claudia Black's work as Morrigan. Probably has something to do with Morrigan's 'tude. Steve Valentine's work as Alistair is also excellent!

Gorim/Ohgren. He's voiced by Steve Blum, the same guy who voiced Spike Spiegel from Cowbow Bebop and Mugen from Samurai Champloo.

You guys should look at his list of work.. you'll be amazed at how much anime/video games this guy has done..

Corrine Kempa did rather wonderful work, but this is the first I've been exposed to her. If she keeps it up, she could be quite the contender.

I thought that too. And I thought Flemeth was voiced by Kate Mulgrew who played Capt. Janeway.

EDIT: Oh, Flemeth is voiced by Kate Mulgrew. Image IPB

- I like Shale french voice actor because Shale seems to me a curious character.

- But my favorite is Alistair voice french actor because doesn't have that in his voice like he is a "noble". No, thank to him, Alistair seems more honest and clumsy really charming.

- Zevran voice french actor because he doesn't have that spanish accent (I don't have any problem with mexican, I am just talking about the voice). He really sound malicious :3

Holy crap, I've just been watching my new 80s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Aniversary Edition and never noticed Duncan was voiced by the same guy who did Splinter. How did I miss that?

I would have agreed if they had let Tim chew the scenery. Unfortunately he's been reduced to an unmemorable lackey, where as in Brutal Legend he kicked serious bum.

I loved Steve Valentine's portrayal of Alistair, it really got me hooked but for minor characters I think the VA that does the old lady outside the Chantry in Denerim, omg, she had me laughing so hard, really great acting.

All of the main characters were fantastically voiced. Some of the smaller bit part actors were really, really good as well. The leader of the bandits you encounter right when you get to Lothering, and the girl who plays several of the younger dwarven female characters both come to mind. The actor who did the voice of Leske was fantastic too.

Out of the main characters, my favorite would have to be a tie between Steve Blum and Corinne Kempa.

Kate Mulgrew for sure. It's a shame I chose to do her character in- would have loved to listen to her more later on! Ah well, there's always the future playthroughs.

Tim Curry dissapointed me in this game. He's not meant to play scrawny old men. Howe needed meat on him.
