No, what's your point? I was not aware the Mass relays were agents in the story, afterall that's what a character is. Gordon is a key character for the main story arc of Half-Life, mainly because of his unique relationship with the Gman. As for Shepard, I don't believe the same concept aplies.

Now, you might say that Gordon doesn't develop much as a character, which is true, but you can't really say he's not one, can you? Unless you're being sarcastic and if that's the case then I'll just drop it.

i actually had a dream with wolverine got found frozen on some planet and started cuttin through the geth and thats when i decided i need to quit thinkin about mass effect so much and the game really needs to come out.

Since Thors slaughter Mutalisks, I'm sure a Reaper would be smart enough to equip themselves with the same amount of firepower.

But I'll happily play along with the premise of this thread and say Master Chief. I haven't played any Halo games (besides a 1hour 30 minute playing session in Halo 1) but even I know that guy is awesome.
