I've been saying this for years, Shepard IS Revan. Technically Star Wars takes place in the same universe as ours, only another galaxy far far away.  Well, if Kotor took place a long time ago then maybe ever since then he was traveling from his home galaxy to ours, because the Reapers are the threat he saw out in the unknown regions not those pesky imperials on Dromund Kas.  (Damn the recent novel for cannonizing a storyline that destroys my theory!)  And he followed them all the way here and is now kicking ass.

I know what your gonna ask, why doesn't he use his lightsaber then?  He lost it and those crystals don't exist in this galaxy so he can't build a new one.  Why no force powers?  Uh, Biotics, hello.  Same thing, be quiet!  

Sure, the recent novel and SWTOR completely destroy this theory, but shut up!

So theres your cross promotion, its been in the entire series already without anybody knowing it.  But if I had to make a serious suggestion, then HK-47.
