Terrorists for some, "doing the right thing" for some. I'd say its all about perspective.

To me they're like a secret society for prosperity of human kind. Always ever present but lurking in shadows all the time and pulling strings.

Looking forward to continue my renegade Shepard in ME3 & continuation of cooperation w/ Cerberus & Illusive Man in ME3 no matter how bad they are.

I like Cerberus. ^_^

They were an unkown in ME1
Morally grey in ME2
In ME3 they're more or less team rocket from what I can tell. They show up out of no where just to screw with Shepard. They keep on trying to steal his pokemon too, ****ing annoying as ****.

In a way it's a shame. But atleast I can drum my chest and say: "Hey guys! Didn't I say so?! Ha-ah!" :wizard:

Just kidding. It's a shame really.

I can't just bring myself to trust a faction that SOLELY drives the ideas of one race and wants to dominate the galaxy (which Illusive Man himself admited in the end of ME2). But again, atleast in ME2, it's about perspective, what you think is bad or good.

They have great goals with questionable methods.

I don't like their downgrade in ME3 to evil bastards. I mean, without them, the galaxy wouldn't stand a chance against the Reapers. We seem to be forced to dislike Cerberus, unlike ME2, were we could support them in many ways.

"Thanks for the ress, I'll take it from here." Is all Shepard needs to say. XD

Because trying to get one of the biggest players of galactic politics even bigger, which the various Alliance divisions already attempt to do is really noble.

It's like saying that EA is noble for trying to make money.

They basically gave the galaxy a chance of defeating the Reapers with reviving Shepard. They were the ones who acted when thousands of humans were taken by the collectors.

Off topic: Actually, EA is much like Cerberus. They release and merchandise your favorite games, even with questionable methods like Origin.

The only good thing I could say about Cerberus is that they cannot be categorized easily. From BSNers I have seen both kinds. Those glorifying Cerberus undeservedly and those condemning them just as undeservedly. I am willing to believe that TIM acts in best intentions for humanity and the galaxy, but his means are unacceptable for me. I don't think that the means always justify the ends, simple as that.

That's the golden question Bioware have posed and left unanswered, and the main thing which makes Cerberus interesting. Just look around the boards, it's being discussed to death =P

Cerberus was never and never will be good.

Well unless Miranda and/or Oleg take over.
Then there's possibility.

In a world where nobody judges by simple terms of black and white, they're gray.
In a simple world where black and white is the only thing people see, they're evil.

They weren't that much of an unknown in ME1. Every bad situation you ran into in that game had there hand in it. You just didn't really talk to anyone in charge on there side. Hell Shep's Survivor psych background 'is' there fault. They wanted to test threshermaws on people.

Doing 1 thing right (reviving Shepard) doesn't make all the rest of the crap they do horribly bad at better. That and there named after a 3-headed dog from Hell. I mean c'mon. They might as well of just named them selves The Space ****'s.

-edit-
Feel like I should clarify, not saying there evil. It's hard to really classify anything as evil unless we're talking about comic book villians or something. It's more like they're horribly mis-guided, like Hitler was.

Then why did Cerberus save the Citadel from a terrorist attack? This was really stupid if they want to enslave the other races. To do so, they have do divide them, not keep them united through the Citadel.

Bioware's portrayal of Cerberus is inconsistent at best.

The developers really shouldn't have read all those books on World War 2, because they came up with loads of really stupid ideas for ME 3 by doing so. They essentially turned TIM into Hitler and Cerberus into the "Schutzstaffel" (SS) of the 22nd century.

What a disappointment.

The basic concept of Cerberus isn't nessicarily a bad idea; Miranda makes a good argument when she points out the Salarian STG have similar goals. It's their total lack of ethical standards and complete disregard for safety that more often than not results in incredibly high body counts and have more than once put the entire galaxy at risk, that are the problem.

With some serious overhauls, Cerberus might be a force for good. With the Illusive Man in charge though, I seriously doubt that will ever happen.
