I've recently had a bug to make an Engineer with certain new decisions in light of some tings I've heard about ME3, but this comic keeps getting in the way. I don't want to rewrite any ME1 decisions. Do I need to remove the comic, or can I just play it through?

If you are importing an ME1 game then the only part the comic makes any change is picking the Councilor, everything else is just a recap to bring you back up to speed in case you had forgotten the first ME story.
