- Evangaline from the Asunder book
- A Tevinter Magister
- A Nevarran Dragon Hunter (rogue specialization)
- A Kossith Warrior (either still Qunari or Tal'vashoth. I just want one that looks like they do in DA2)
- An Awakened Darkspawn (Mostly concealed rogue type)
-An Orlesian Chevalier
-A Female Dwarf.
-An Ashwarrior with Mabari companion
-A chasind Witch or an Avvar

Some of his personality traits:
-Bitter and depressed
-Serious
-Reserved
He is still kind/not coldhearted though and has a lot of knowledge and will always offer his wisdom if you ask him (and sometimes when you don't.)
Regardless of how you treat him during the game he stays completely loyal to you. You hold a very strange and powerful influence over him and you are his reason to live. Your determination, strength and purpose (emphasis on purpose) inspires him and gives him purpose. You can eventually choose to learn more about his past, and how you choose to use your influence over him is up to you, you can make or break this man and he knows it, he is completely at your mercy, he realizes the influence you have over him and he powerlessly accepts it (but you choose what you do with this influence and control over him.)
And yes I realize these are just for fun, Bioware probably laughs at our fanfiction and some of our suggestions (and I would laugh too if I were the Bioware writers. Although arguably Bioware could have wrote the characters in DA 2 a bit better. Not that they weren't good but still, the DA:O characters had a bit more depth in some areas)
Second companion: A Qunari woman. That would be awesome. Why she is with you and how she learned to fight I have no idea.
I was thinking that perhaps she is a very troubled person, but your character has somehow changed her outlook on her life.
Perhaps when she looks through your eyes she sees all your purpose, all your bravery and determination, and it inspires her. When she looks through your eyes she sees all of Thedas. All of its conflict, all of its people, and all of its enormousness. She is drawn to you and when she is around you she forgets all of her own troubles/problems and she suddenly doesn't feel so unsure about herself.

1) Varric
2) Cullen (or Cassandra) / (Sword and Shield)
3) Hawke (optional, who better than your own designer companion?
(4) Dog, summonable, like in DA2, but with more interactions and party banter)
Original characters:
1) Female Grey Warden Assassin (Dual-wielder) - human
2) Male Tevinter Spirit Healer - human
3) Male Anderfel Berserker (Two-handed fighter) - human
4) Female Dalish Elf Warrior (Dual-wielder warrior, I want that option for warriors back, please!)
5) Female Qunari Blood Mage (can become demon-possessed later on)
I'm not overly partial to demons or spirits, we've had Justice after all.

Why does the world turn upside down in this area of the DA2 forums? It's like walking into a Gotham City with no Batman

You don't mean to imply that when people aren't locked out of their games for speaking their mind, they tend to express different opinions, do you? Surely the locked forums are the perfect venue for truly honest and candid discussion.

I think a Tranquil companion would be cool.
Yeah bring back Elsa, I could really see her as a logical efficient killer, or healer if Meredith had her broken.
And maybe a Templar that was twisted by too much lyrium a Mr. Hyde with no Jekyl.
Merril romaced her then done, only stuck with Anders cause he could raise the dead.
Bring back Finn!

I don't see a Tranquil Companion working very well. Thats technically telling them to side against the Templars. Maybe get a Tranquil Companion if you sided with the Templars in the DA2. If you sided with the Mages in DA2, you get someone else.
Just my idea.
I very much like this idea. It is rather similar to what happened in the Knights of the Old Republic. Depending on light/dark side and male/female you could get a particular companion. I think the companions need to come from all over the place to show how all must come together to stop the mage/templar war before it destroys everyone. So here are some thoughts for companions:
Returning Characters:
1) Varic
2) Bethany/Carter (depending on which one lived) (could also be potential romance option)
3) Oghren
4) Nathaniel Howe (romance option)
New Characters:
1) Female Werewolf (similar to Lady of The Forest) (romance option if Lady form is gone with - * optional quest)
2) Female Qunari Warrior (romance option)
3) Male Tal-Vashoth Mage
4) Male Golem (noble dwarf kidnapped and forced to become a golem) (optional quest to turn back into dwarf and become dwarf rogue) (another possible romance option)
5) Tree Spirit (similar to Grand Oak) (similar in size too)
6) Dalish Female Hunter (possible romance)
7) Male Former Knight-Comander (optional quest to find out why he is no longer with the order) (possible romance)
8) Orleasian Fighter (Male/Female) (would depend upon what sex your character is - exact oppposite of that)
9) Male/Female Human possessed spirit (similar to Connor and Anders, except multiple spirits which in turn would give different abilities) (romance option)
10) Lost Sister of The Wilds (relateable to Morrigan in a sense) (romance option)

No more dwarfs that don't know how to button up their shirts.
No more 2 hand sword weilding quelfs wearing panty hose and skirts.
Get rid of the sheild weilding warriors, their useless in DAO and DA2 or revamp them to be usefull in some way. At least in DAO you could turn Alistair into a archer and make him usefull since you get him early enough to change him.
Bring back the Qunari like Sten without the rediculous horns.
Bring back character race selection, kind of a RPG standerd operating proceedure there guys.

2. A Renegade Templar - again good quest convincing him/her to leave the order.
3. A free but reluctant to be so mage - a ditz of a sort but a useful one.
4. Merras or other Koslith no longer following the Qun. - good source of problems with Qunari.
5. Any class female that actually acts like a medieval era female - modest, defensive only, will not attack unless attacked, dependent on PC to defend her in word and deed, modest attire, quiet, gentle etc...
Beyond that whoever will do.

I think I'd like and encourage Bioware to have one chevalier companion. This would make for a good default warrior character. Hopefully he'd be an ex-commander or ex-captain who nearly lost his life in the Battle of the Dane River. I'll tentatively call him Harolde. Harolde should possibly be tied to Divine Justinia V as having been one of her compeers during the Reverend Mother's wild youth and will occasionally be observed by her spies under orders to "keep him out of trouble". During his youth he should probably have been a bit like Zevran in flamboyance but more poetically inclined; most of the time he was spent paying out beatings to bards who were caught as suspected spies (though he'd more than often also give them legal advice too, sometimes more unhappily recieved than the physical abuse). Most bards under his treatment and "torture" would know what to say to save their own lives but would also provide enough truth to assist his master.
Harolde loves law and maps of mountain ranges. The study of the contours of terrain is a strange passion of his, although understandable considering his mother was a tailor who works in gilded silks and muslins (the crinkle of gilded fabric's contours) and his father was descended of Gamordan Peaks men (but became a yodelling bard and later a lawyer).
The tale of his parents is probably more tame than might be assumed but indeed his family home range in Gamordan Peaks suffered from haunts more than could be bourne domestically. So they all moved to Val Firmin. Harolde's father became an intelligence gatherer for the local chevaliers and was so successful he learned the ways of more noble bards (who do not "play the game" so dangerously but rather serve as internal police for a lord). Harolde's father came upon knowledge that a slow game was being played, that his lord would in a decade's time be accused of terrible crimes. Enough false evidence was being planted, briberies and promises were being made. Harolde's father therefore decided to protect his lord by learning law and uncovering the source of these ruses. As the lord of Val Firmin can attest, Harolde's father was brilliantly victorious. At this time, yodelling became quite the trend among the favored bards in Val Firmin.
As a young man, Harolde was a friend of Justinia V, and the two adventured along the Waking Sea and even into the southern edge of the Abyssal Reach in a vain hope to assail the Adamant Fortress and retrieve scrolls and books therefrom. It is said they were accompanied by Grey Wardens (perhaps Riordan and perhaps even Duncan). The assault was defied within the Abyssal Reach itself although something was brought out with the party -- something rather strange that Harolde still never speaks of.
After the adventure to the Abyssal Reach ended, Harolde became an investigative spy like his father had been. He also meted out beatings to bards his lord suspected of spying on the court, suspicions aroused by Harolde's advisement. These beatings were not so hard as to break bones nor cause very much pain but they were coupled with whispered legal advice: what to admit to and how to keep oneself safe while conveying sufficient truth to be useful. Eventually Harolde joined the military and proved himself already capable and experienced in battle during training. He was made an officer and empowered over a unit of elite foot soldiers armed with three spears apiece of 12 feet, six feet, and three feet lengths.
Harolde was knighted for his role in keeping a unit away from a noble's unit for an entire day during retreat while taking many losses. The body of his unit was decimated -- only one tenth remained and they managed to capture a flytte and sail with the noble's unit across the Calanhad and make their way to where Gherelden's pass stood. The soldiers and noble then travelled eastward to Denerim (still owned by Orlais at that time). Three years later, Harolde assisted royal mariner guards in a deception to sail a royal barge out of the besieged city bearing none of Meghren's family. This deception lead the body of the Ferelden mages (who had betrayed Orlais) to their demises. A short harpoon of soft wood haft and sea serpent bone used in this battle may still exist somewhere although the royal mariner guards were known to wield hard coral knives and buoyant wooden shields, armoured only in garb of woven seaweed fibers.
After this battle, Harolde and the royal mariner guards were stranded from the body of Orlesian troops -- the troopers defending Denerim mostly being dead. A messenger did manage to relay an order and Harolde used the boat to sail across the northern face of Ferelden to Orlais to gather reinforcements. None would be forthcoming. Harolde was sent into young retirement as an especially honored chevalier. At this time, Harolde began the study of languages, Tevinter history, and inevitably of blood magic although he was no mage himself. Harolde might have been an element in chasing Leliana and Marjorlaine out of Orlais (perhaps because they came too close to one of his study partners). Also Harolde is fond of dice and paper games involving tiny ornate figurines; these keep his tactical skills sharp. Several of his strategems he's published as potentially useful in case of darkspawn invasion and would have been recieved well by the Grey Wardens if the publications had been more widely circulated. Harolde's habit of gaming is seen as amusing and quaint, that is all. Coded messages in his home within his private walled villa would give him a swift remonstrance from even his old friend Justinia: he is an apostate in mind if not in practise. If it is the Old Gods of Tevinter who become arch-demons, if it is Tevinter lords who became the initial darkspawn, why not enlist the assistance of Tevinter blood mages as a second line of defense outside the Grey Wardens?
He might be found in Velun, still mourning the reported death of Riordan who he considers the true hero of Ferelden. His knowledge of wider events is impressive although he considers Tevinter more important strategically than Ferelden and Anderfels in any future defense of Thedas.
Harolde is yet unmarried. It is said he loves Justinia V more than might be warrented by pious admiration. It is said he keeps a drawing of an unknown woman, a woman without clothing, with him at all times. The face might be seen to resemble a younger Justinia V. Or it might just be a platinum decorated playing card with erotic depiction, bedecked with Tevinter runes to protect the bearer from harm. After all, Harolde is aging and no longer in his best form.
It might be added that a man whose battlefield practise was only long ago may seem of a lower level than his experience and life would suggest at; furthermore he might seem out-of-shape compared to his once youthful physique. Hence, Harolde is an appropriate companion for lower level characters.
And here we must end with Harolde except to say he will probably try to romance any young female rogues or blood mages who at least pretend to piety and who understand that his first love will always be another, someone quite beyond his reach.
