However, it would have to make sense from either plot or player character point of view, to be travelling with a demon. I wouldn't just want this for the sake of it.

We should have an Orlesian mage, a Tevinter knight, and a Kossith rogue. The Kossith rogue should be a spy but perhaps could be an assassin (a Tallis I guess).
In DAO we had an apostate mage who wasn't very possessed if at all nor overtly interested in blood magic, a Circle mage who was possessed yet very friendly, a joking and submissive Templar, a happy-go-lucky Mabari, a Chantry girl who is flirty and abnormal in her faith, a Kossith who loves cookies, a wisacre Antivan assassin, and a vicious girly golem (pronounced goh-lam).

I see a lot of suggestions for "superhero", or "very special" companions.
I see the Mystery Companion from DAO as "very special". We might call special a golem, a Witch of the Wilds, a prophet, a possessed mage capable enough to be First Enchanter, a sten of the Kossith Qun, etc. What made these people seem normal is that the main character was pretty darned powerful.
I do not see so many superhero companions suggested as might be indicated. Look carefully. I myself suggested an old man with a long history of victories but whose character has aged and grown indolent to the point where he's pretty much low level. In gaining levels, he might be seen to be having a second youth. This could end in his death though...

Well, seeing Garrus and Tali in Thedas might explain ME3's ending.jackofalltrades456 wrote...

I'm hoping for 6 companions, that way they have more depth to each of of them but I'd like to see another Qunari companion, and of course a dwarf, they're always the best. I wan't mostly new companions but I really wan't see Cullen!

i'll take the Dwarf idea a step further
Dwarf Archer (cause you don't see that many of them in fantasy)

Varric (from DA2) was a Dwarven archer. He used a crossbow named Bianca, but still used the archery skill tree.TheShadowWolf911 wrote...

-A Tevinter Magister or apprentice. After meeting Fenris, I want to get a perspective from the other side. Feynriel could also fill this role, depending on what you chose to do with him.
-Female Qunari!! After meeting Tallis it seems that some roles for Qunari women do involve combat training. I don't think her fighting skills would be hard to explain. Or she could just be a tal-vashoth, which would probalby make the most sense.
-A Mabari, though as a summon like in DA2.

Really? I preferred the Mabari in DA:O. In DA2 you couldn't control or outfit your dog, whereas you could do both in DA:O. If nothing else, the Mabari was something of a liability in DA2 when he ran off and sprung traps or gained the enemy's attention.BPearl12 wrote...

Who you can sway back to the Qun if Friend or sway to Tal-vashoth if rival, like Sebastian and his brother of the chantry/prince side.
Preferably female.
Preferably romanceable.

Wait.. a Chasind shaman. They could show us how barbarians survived the blights.
now this idea i like.
i've voiced my dislike for humans in Dragon Age and Mass Effect, with exceptions only being individuals, but the Chasind on the other hand, highly interest me, i want to see more of the Chasind.
