Have I ever mentioned I've wanted a Sarabaas companion? I think a female since I don't believe female Qunari have made an appearance in game.

  • Sten. Nuff said
  • Grey Warden paladin type character that can perhaps tank and have a heal that can only heal others?(make him super epic badass, similar to Kristoff from Warden's Fall machinama)
  • Dalish Archer with ranger spec
  • Oghren pl0x? If not,  a legion of the dead berserker or tank
  • Morrigan maybe? I think its time we found out what happens with the Old God child. If not, I think he/she should be the PC of DA4
  • Leliana (if not, possibly Casandra?) since shes a seeker now and is even more relevent to the story now than in DA:O
  • Anders since hes one of the main reasons for the war(possibly found with above mentioned Gray Warden. In hiding perhaps?)
  • Seerabas? pl0x?
  • Dual wielding Ash Warrior w/dog male or female

1 Alistair (if you didn't make him King, though i love him so much, i just want him back as a companion and not a fat, fleeting NPC)
2 Leliana
3 Sigrun
4 Cullen
5 Ser Gilmore
6 A Qunari
7 Connor (Arl Eamons son, but fully grown)
8 Morrigan (the dialogue between her and Alistair made the game)
9 Anders
10 Someone like Wynne
11 The only character i liked from DA2 was Bethany, she'd be a good companion
12 Ash Warrior
13 If they don't let us play as our beloved Warden... at least let us make them a companion?
14 A Darkspawn, in some capacity, it may work with the right storyline...
15 An Orlesian

Ideally i'd like the same number of companions from the first one, all with great backgrounds and stories. I also think we should be able to take Dog out whenever, he should have an extra slot just for him (5 in party) that would allow us to use Dog without sacrificing a character.

I know it won't happen, but i just want to carry on the Warden story, play with my character and same companions. I'd love all the companions to be companions in the new one, but i know that Origins is done and finished and Alistair will never return. I also read they're sticking with the mage/templar story and that the next game will be about saving the world from a civil war :crying: Great, don't think i'll be buying it as i HATED that storyline and HATED DA2 in general... i'm sad they're not going back and taking Origins in a different direction

I like the idea of having to choose one companion or the other. For example, you can have a demon companion, but to get him you must kill the templar companion. Etc, etc. So that eventually you build your party the way it suits you. Let's agree, it doesn't make sense that a templar is following a bloodmage who consort with demons (for example). Let's say DA2 will have 8 companions total, but you can only have four in any one game, because each 2 are mutually exclusive. Female Kossith mage vs Qunari warrior, templar vs demon, former slave vs magister.

Mabari vs sabertooth cat

More than others I'd love to see a demon companion. There are reasons one may want to follow you, such as lots of carnage ahead. Makes for an opportunity to hear a demon's version of Chant of Light, what's true and what's not. And some amazing possible banter with mage followers.

1) Cassandra

2) Finn

3) Ariane

4) A Tevinter Magister

5) A Female Kossith

6) Carver/Bethany (depending on our imported saves)

7) Sigrun

8) Varric

9) Maraas

10) Feynriel

Being able to run into our Hawke or Warden, in some capacity, wouldn't be so bad either.

Female Kossith is universally popular. To the point where inclusion of one will generate pre-orders despite all the negative reaction generated by DA2.

Hm, and speaking of demon companion... What if you get a mage companion and at some point have an option to sacrifice him to put a demon in his body (requires main character to be a bloodmage - quest tied to character build, very nice). Really, in DAO and DA2 you just lose characters. Give them away, kill them, they leave themselves. Why not make those chances to obtain possessed followers, or maybe make a golem yourself? A flesh golem. Shapeshifting one.
Ah, the possibilities for truly awesome stuff were all missed in DA2. It was "awesome" only on paper, not in real life.

Lord Gremlin is right, Female Kossith is rather popular, and make her a mage or Tal vashoth (or both) and you have quite the interesting character, make her romancable and basically everyone is happy.

give us race selection in character creation and EVERYONE is likely to be happy.

If this is a close out of the series I'd like some surprises like maybe Kivan Coran Safana Yeslick a nod to Baldur's Gate.
Even Khalid I still feel bad about letting him get turned to stone.

I'm just hoping for a diverse group. Not just humans, with one elf and one dwarf. So I'm guessing the group will have 8-10 companions in DA3. The group shouldn't be too large, thus giving them more screen time and interaction with the hero.

1) Human Templar (female)
2) Human mage (male)
3) Elf archer (male)
4) Qunari warrior (female)
5) Dwarf beserker (female)
6) Demon (magical being)
7) Fex dualist (not even sure what they look like, hopefully a beast race) (male)
8) Elf bard (female)

DLC
9) Ash warrior (seemed cool in DAO, want to see more of them)
10) ????

You want a demon, a mage, and a templar in the same party.

...

I think this might work, for the mage and templer if you could choose from a batch of different characters.  Pick the mage and the templer refuses to join,  Pick the templar and the mages refuses.  Not sure about the demon. And I can't see a mage and templer agreeing to work together.  Unless the templer somehow escaped.

I would like to have a number of characters to choose from and then have their joining the team depend on what type of character you play.  I remember in a couple of games BW made years ago, there was an evil guy who refused to join up because I was "good".  Or maybe have some of them leave if they disaprove of my character.  This to me would make it interesting for replay value.  I get rather tired of everyone wanting to be part of my group.

Yes,  except I want a choice between killing them and just telling them to get lost or even having them say something about if that deamon, mage, templar, theif, good/evil character   is coming, I'm out of here.  And then having the choice of saying good ridence or fighting them.

I think a tranquil companion would be interesting. Even though tranquil mages have no emotion doesn't mean they have to lack personality. EDI and Legion in Mass Effect are both great characters that don't have emotions.

Most of the tranquil characters in Dragon Age have come across as wusses but I don't see why a tranquil couldn't be a cold blooded killer since they wouldn't feel any remorse for killing.

I think it'd be more interesting if the character had been forced to be tranquil. The other characters would feel sympathy for her (or him) but she wouldn't care even though she'd still remember her life before.

I would like to see the companion system being a lot more... 'fluid'.

Dragon Age 2 took a few steps in a very interesting direction, but did not take it far. For example, I had a team of 8 or so companions who were all at my beck and call, despite having occupations from healer to captain of the guard. Why did they not ever tell me "I'm busy?". Why did Anders never tell me to get lost because I always helped the Templars and refused to help him?

I would like to see a very small, 'default' team of PC, best friend/family member, second/servant/bodyguard/slave (depending on your origin... hint hint Bioware!) and something like a Mabari or a summoning if you are a mage, etc.

These would be your base team, who are with you throughout. You then come across a number of other possible companions, all of whom have some requirement of working with you. A mercenary who needs payment. A Templar who only comes if you give them Lyrium. A guard who needs you to catch a criminal or do a patrol. An apostate who needs shelter. A rather shady individual who needs a 'favour'. A circle mage who must be accompanied by a Templar. There are so many possibilities! These business relationships must be renewed every few missions in order to keep using them, eventually leading them to join you full time.

Anyway, for specific companion ideas:

- Blood mage and his bound demon 'pet'. He figured out the method Justice was forced into the world, and used it to force a demon into a body with the kind of control rod Qunari use to control Saarebas.
- As above, a circle mage and their Templar keeper (secret lovers for a bit of scandal?)
- Templar heavily addicted to Lyrium, who has turned to crime to feed her habit. Same person as the Templar above?
- Kossith, ex-Qunari mercenary (Maraas?)
- Someone like Loghain. So special powers, no gimmicks, just a determined, grizzled warrior who fights in a world of demons and magic, and somehow always survives.

1. Neurotic mage (Finn or Emile Delauncet; just think of the awkward romance options lol)
2. Blind elven female tevinter bloodmage. (reminds me of warcraft 3, "i walk in darkness. ohh, my hood is down)
3. Beserker from the anderfels (like Khal Drogo from Game of thrones, but with humor)
4. Orlisian male templar with lyrium addiction.
5. Human female hunter(rogue) with pet. Fierce, bi****, but obsessed with her pet.
6. Female dwarf warrior (Funny, direct, but goodnatured. like sigrun)
7. An awaken darkspawn! Noble, kind and generous.

Give me DA III now! :P

I want a non whiny, non healing Male Mage that has a tendency to accidentally explode things. make him adorable and a cocky bastard. But not like they did with Alistair. Have him always talk big game and any time he tries to help the situation it literally blows up. Instead of being embarrassed by it he'll try to always pass it off as intentional. He never admits he messes up unless you romance him. Even though everyone already knows he just has good exploding luck. :D

I would be interested in seeing Sigrun, Varric, and or Oghren back for DA3 as companion(s). Mostly Sigrun. I would also not complain about a return of Aveline, Shale, Sten, Justice or Nathaniel. I admit I would feel strange about Sten or Aveline, though, as Aveline was one of my Hawke's closest friends and Sten one of my Warden's. Besides that, if it's a new protagonist and not Hawke or the Warden, I'd kind of prefer new companions. I loved the others but they're either dead (Wynne, possibly Anders) or LI (Morrigan, Leliana, Zevran, Alistair, Anders, Fenris, Isabela, Merrill), in which case they should remain "mysterious" like their Warden or Hawke.

Adult compagnions like in DAO, Especially the romanceble caracters in DA2 where so badly written I coudn't connect so no I would not care to see them at all in DA3. Aveline and Varic I wouldn't mind seeing again in DA3. And no cruelty like is done with the Anders caracter in DA2, I liked him in Awakening, dit not recognize him in DA2 but if you must use Fenris, Merrill, Nathaniel or Isabella. Ok that last bit was uncalled for but I really hated those imature caracters.
