I think it'd be awesome.

We need more accents.

Ice, most likely. There was dialog that suggested that it gets colder the further south you go.

I think the French accents all game would kill me (plus I'd eventually be forced to equip everyone in my party with a Longbow :P). I wouldn't mind being in Ferelden again, but midway through a second Orleisian invasion. Partly because that would lead to some more Landsmeet style politics and it would be a chance to cut down some of those Chevaliers that everyone seems to be oh so afraid of.

They actually talk with an italian accent in Antiva. I'd clearly want to see Dragon Age 2 take place in Antiva next. Imagine the intrigues!

Excuse me ? I doubt  that calling the accent "eurotrash" is polite..
As far as I can say it sounds Spanish..

Was it just me, or did anyone else think that Varathorn in the Dalish encampent seemed to speak like a native american? Old school, not Saskatchewan modern.  Kinda reminded me of talking to the Elders in fishing lake, near where i live.

lol makes me giggle, we brits are steriotyped as extremly posh snobs, but its really not the case, we have accents the same as americans for each state/place we live. all sounding different. i think we may been seen in this light because we tend not to slouch our words so to speak, instead of yeah, its yes ect

As I understand it by British accent they mean some sort of extreme RP.

I don't care about the accents. As long as I get to visit Kal-Sharok and the Dales, that is.

I love the entire world and characters. If there's a DA2 (or an expansion or whatnot) I just want to keep playing as my character as the Queen of Ferelden. I was very, very depressed when I didn't even get to run around in the world as queen with Alistair, and I really wanted to go back to Highever and take back Castle Cousland. I loved Morrigan, Alistair (hated him at first), Lelenia (accent and all!)

I didn't mind Zev and Wynne, I liked Sten and Shale and I loved the dog. Ohgren was amusing but I always got him last waaay late.

The faux french accents in this game were HORRIFIC! The real ones were delicious. I think I could handle it.

I think it would be cool actually, but to assume everyone sounds the same is a bit over the top. Go to England or France or in the U.S. and not everyone sounds the same.

On another note I initiate conversations with Leliana just to hear her talk

Anyone notice where Kal Sharok is?

Holy schnitzel, the dwarves dig looooooong tunnels.

It's also interesting to note the position of Par Vollen, Arlathan forest and the dales.

I have a strong suspicion that the third game (it is supposed to be a trilogy, right?) will be set in the Tevinter Imperium. It kinda makes sense, I think, since it was because of the mages of the Tevinter Imperium that the whole darkspawn/Blight thing started in the first place. We might get to fight a final showdown at the place where it all began.

Besides, I think that the Tevinter Imperium would make for a great setting since it is supposed to be inspired to some extent by the Byzantine Empire. Although the fantasy genre is filled with references and allusions to history (Ferelden, for example, is loosely based on medieval England), the Byzantines are rarely used as a source of inspiration, for some reason. Maybe it is because Byzantium was kinda "schizophrenic" - not quite eastern, not quite western, but quite a bit of both. But, that is exactly what I think would make the Byzantine Empire an intriguing source of inspiration for a fantasy game. If Bioware continues with the Tevinter and Byzantium analogy, then it would make for a unique setting.

I wouldn't mind Orlais at all! After hearing so mutch about it ingame I would love for the next game to be set there. I really like french accents, but I think if the next game were to be set in that country, we would need to have some variety. Not all characters have to have an orlesian accent or come from Orlais that we can interact with.

If Marjolaine's accent is real then I'm the queen of Hyboria.

Congratulation on your coronation !

I'm pretty sure Bioware has put lots of money into the voiceover and that all the Orlaisians are native french speakers.
From memory, Marjolaine just sounds very much like some French gal that speak a very accented english.
Sure it's perhaps a bit too heavy, but it definitely sounded real.

Actually, this is incorrect. I recognized Marjolaine's VA right away (and she's also the voice of Anora's maid and at least one of the Desire Demons) because she's done voices for Bioware before (such as Aerie in Baldur's Gate II), as well as pretty much every cartoon I grew up with in the 90's: Kath Soucie. Marjolaine's accent is certainly not authentic at all, though I've heard worse fake French accents than hers before. Leliana's voice actress (Corinne Kempa) is French, so I'm not sure why people are calling her accent fake - maybe because she tones it down more at times?

As for a future game set in Orlais, I wouldn't mind it if most of the primary characters had real French VAs like Leliana and Riordan (Stephane Cornicard). Fake accents I could put up with if they were in limited supply or done well.
