I've been thinking about the stories behind Gaxkang the Unbound (DAO) and Xebenkeck (DA2). Could it be possible that this is some sort of major long-term plot for the rest of the series? Two other demons, spirits or whatever you have to call them are mentioned in the codex as well, namely Imshael and the Formless One, and the 4 of them supposedly were the first to teach the Tevinter magisters blood magic. Of course, I just read that particular part in the wiki, but it also mentions that this is by no means a certainty (so this may all be speculation based on speculation. Never a really good idea, but fun nonetheless
). My initial thought was that their presence in the game was simply a way to get an additional extra tough boss-fight. However, since blood magic is such a major theme, I think some sort of elaborate story behind them might very well be possible. Thoughts?

Their story is obviously very elaborate and important to the DA universe, but wether or not they will ever hold a main plotline in a DA game is hard to say. I believe that we will hear more to it, at the very least they will remain as optional content, which will explain more about the DA lore.

The recent interview with David Gaider made it clear the Enigma of Kirkwall codices, which addressed these demons and brought up the Fell Grimoire, were written only to provide an ingame explanation for the abundance of blood mages in the city. That said, I hope it's explored beyond a few codex entries and a combat in future games, but I'm not holding my breath. :/

I was dissapointed to hear in that interview that whatever Tevinter was trying to do in Kirkwall failed and had nothing to do with the founding of the city. I was hoping it was the site where the magisters physically entered the Fade, and maybe that it had something to do with the lore entry that said Andraste went alone to the summit of Sundermount and when she was done she came down crying.

Is there not a mention in Legacy about the problems with Kirkwall having also to do with Corypheus? I thought I read something to that effect.

While that codex does exist, it holds no bearing as Larius explicitly states that Corypheus can only influence creatures that bear the taint.

The Gaxkang quest was also a nod to the kangaxx quest from Baldur's Gate 2.

And we will no doubt see Corypheus again, that is for sure.
As for the secret demons...I always considered them optional boss battles to fight; kind of like the black vials with the Revenants inside. That said, we may see one of these creatures come to fruition some time, perhaps in a desperate struggle between mages and templars....

I certainly hope there is more to them. Gaxkang in particular piqued my interest. It was just the culmination of all those side quests.... and then the way he presented himself. Very cool.
