hey all, i have a major problem.

I enjoy the combat of the game, but my npcs always take the "final blow" and I feel like my pc is gypped because of this. :crying: My pc's list of kils, etc is weak.  I Can't Stand It!!
Alistair especially takes the "final blows" away from my pc; neat story for char, but this whole "final blow" thing frigging Kills ME.

any advice on how to tell the npcs to stand back and let pc have the final blow? or something of the like? I searched through the tactics, but nothing there. :(

When something is about to die, tell everyone to move instead of attack?

Roll a DW rogue with momentum, you attack so quickly that 9 times out of 10 you'll hit the killing blow. If thats not your flavor then your best bet is to take control of Allistair when the enemy is low on health and make him run around in circles while you watch your PC take the glory

You could get the enemies' health really far down, unequip everyone that has ranged weapons, and toggle on Hold position, then take the final blow. Hope that helps =).

Use Tactics to put your party members on Hold when an enemy is at (or below) 10% health. Or make them attack other, healthier targets, leaving the almost dead for you to finish off.

Bah, but mages get no cool "Fatalities" which is what this fellow is looking for. I swear the fatalities almost made AoC worth continuing and I wish there was more of them, its the one thing that keeps me playing a melee character in this game. Dagger to the gut, and good bye head.

It would be hilarious to see Morrigan ride an Ogre in its death throws as she riddles it with lightning.  Hilarious.

At least the tower guard didn't steal your ogre kill...

Now that would ****** me off, lulz at Morrigan riding a dragon's head clubbing it to death. Has anyone got a killing blow against a dragon or ogre with a Maul/Mace, I'd be curious to see what that looks like.

Oghren got a killing blow on the Broodmother for me once, climbed behind her and smacked her upside the head with the giant mallet

The mace animation against Ogres is the same thing as the 1h sword one... a little silly, jamming a blunt object like that and expecting it to pierce the skin.

how often does 'killing blow' happen. i do remember the ogre early on. is this only possible with 'orange' level enemies?

U can get killing blow on regular enemies too, but it`s not guaranteed and much less spectacular.

As long as your enemies die, does it really matter who lands the killing stroke?

Why does this even matter? I mean they are all your characters, you control them. Who cares who gets the kills. Is this just an ego trip? I mean does it hurt your ego to know that a computer controlled characters has more kills then yours? It should not.

Only on the bosses, and then there's precious few of those....with no fancy dialogue from your companions about a tough boss fight that ended well, I'm not sure it matters as long as ya get yer XP. I think the only one who was truly commented on was Branka, by Oghren seeing as he was there in my party to discuss it with. No one says anything when ya kill the High Dragon, bleh.

Somewhat unrelated but I have had my pc and Alistair get simultaneous killing blow on an orge. I was playing as an elf so you could only see Alistair who looked like he had 3 swords and a shield.
