Actually you can access the Guide in the internet. Just sayingImage IPB

Who cares?  Books are BETTER.

Paper doesn't need an internet connection.  And besides, it's SHINY.

I hate strategy guides. It ruins the integrity of playing a video game to me.

Pretty much. And getting "the best ending" first time through... on your own is a lot more satisfying. All it takes is common sense and genre savviness. Something that doesn't cost 40 bucks.

And books are easier to balance on your lap and use while you're playing.

I became a BOSS at weapon mods in ME1 after reading the game guide. That's why I pre-ordered my CE game guide bundled with me N7 Edition...with my PowerUp card I got 20% off the guide with the purchase of the N7 Edition. Then another 10% because I'm cool like that. I didn't even know all this stuff came with it...glad I ordered it!

Plus, who DOESN'T like the smell of new books? I dig that sh**.

Yep!  For the first few months, at least.  Can't over the summer--no internet.

I have like four game guides at home. I've never once opened the Madden ones (what was I thinking) but I had to tape the Halo and Fallout ones back together. It all depends on what you like. Sure, you can get it all online, but you can't sit up all night planning your way through quests when you don't own a computer without a guide.

Now, to find an extra $30...

I used to buy strategy guides to actually use them. I was just kind of laid back gamer that wanted the least amount of challenge out of my game. I've changed over the years so I'm not that way anymore though. Even so, I'm rather interested in this guide. Not to use during my first playthrough but just to have this book all about Mass Effect 3. I guess I'm weird but just having this book that I can read through afterward with little character summaries and illustrated tech trees would satisfy the nerdy gamer in me.

Well the Collectors edition appears to be Hardcover so you don't have to tape them.

Why use a strategy guide when the nice people over at mass effect wiki have documented the answer I wanted 90% of the time?

The trouble with guides (for me at least) is that I usually read too far ahead and spoil the game.

Saying that I will be buying this.

I have the last two, this one meets most of my standards where Collectors guides are concerned and the Amazon one wasn't £15 or over so I literally just pre-ordered it now.

Well played op, well played.

Just once I'd like to be able to enjoy my guide-collecting without a dozen people breathing down my neck like priests preventing a sinner-in-progress. I'm not going to read the walkthrough until I've beaten the game. I collect guides for games I love as coffee table pieces and fun, easy reads. End of.
