I actually practice with the katana, and in my head-canon, so does my Shepard. It would be AWESOME if we could use them as a heavy melee weapon.

We'll get a taser mod for the pistols and I don't think that blade would do much good on an assault rifle.

I think it's pretty obvious both Renegade & Paragon points stack up to the total Reputation level and using persuasion options (Blue, Red, or new Grey ones) will depend on your reputation level, not how many Renegade/Paragon points you have alone. It's a MUCH better system that doesn't punish players who roll misex characters and don't stick strictly to Paragon/Renegade path

Kai Leng looks badass. Actually in some ways more terrifying than the banshee. Could he be the new Shep/Saren dual off in ME3? Awesome!!!!!!!!!!!

My guess is that your paragon and renegade scores add together to make your reputation bar. Charm and intimidate options still probably need a certain paragon or renegade score, but people who are relatively neutral can still achieve a high reputation score, and whatever benefits that entails.

Instead of separating the paragon/renegade meters, they're combined into single reputation meter. I fully support this new system b/c it makes it easier for ppl to roleplay their Shepards the way they want, w/o feeling obligated to stick to one morality.

I second your semi-justified hopes, but let's see the mechanics first and then congratulate Bioware for it.... or not so much.

Dunno, nothing wrong with how Gears of War did it.

Nothing wrong with stabbing someone close to you when you're out of ammo, or want to engage in melee.  ME has been known for enjoying Brutal CQB, so Bayonets make sense.

I just want all my guns to have them, like AoT: TFD.

Seems reasonable, I guess we'll see how well it works when the game is released.
