If you've played Mass Effect 2 then you'll know what I'm talking about. Every so often there would be a cutscene where Shepard or some of his squadmates would pull out a gun. Only for some reason it would often be a pistol that you weren't carrying in the first place. I can see this becoming even more of a problem in ME3 as in this game you don't have to carry a pistol at all. Now it wouldn't just be that your pistol magically transforms, but a new one could just appear out of thin air. How will bioware work around this? If they made a cutscene where Shepard pulls a gun, then they'd have to make that cutscene suitable for shotguns, assult rifles, even sniper rifles! Or is the magic cut-scene pistol coming on back?

I asked this question, and I believe it was answered in the known features thread.

Yup. Even the writers have to write about combat scenes, and its easier for them just to go with the magical gun.

Annoys the hell out of me, but what can you do?

Well, maybe they'll replace it with the omni-blade, saves all that hassle of trying to figure out how to make the cutscene base around each gun.

Could be worse. At least a pistol could be hidden away in your trousers. Care to explain where Miranda got that assault rifle? Wait...no...don't answer that!

I've seen it on one of the new vids that the magical pistol is still there.

I find this graphical good better then the one where you put your handgun INSIDE of your SMG (in cutscenes even), because they both take up the same place on Shepard. That drives me more crazy what this topic talks about.

I didn't mind the pistol as much as Miranda pulling out an avenger on the suicide mission.

I imagine it's quite like the murder knife in Dragon Age, you are never actually seen wearing it until you use it on someone in a cut-scene. Honestly, I never noticed. And if I did, I really couldn't care less.

No kidding. Anyone else notice that when he/she confronts the SB, they first pop up an SMG(locust in my case), and then it magically transforms into a pistol?

WHAT SORCERY IS THIS???

It's only annoying when people hold assault rifles like pistols.

Just accept that it's there to stay? I think most people should do that.

Some cutscenes might be suited for other rifles, and I'm sure that they'll do what they can there, but if there's some Renegade interrupt or something like that where Shepard is supposed to shoot something and you don't have a pistol, I bet he'll just pull one out.

It'd be cooler if he asked a squadmate for a pistol instead, but eh. Can't have everything.

Judging by the loadout screens, it looks like the SMGs and pistols will be located on both Shepard's hips instead of just one.
