Movie Editors Project[MEP]

It's a little idea the guys on the movie makers group had about, gathering some raw footage and mixing it to show how each class/player acted on differents roles/playstyles/builds. For a while the project got stale(mostly because we couldn't reach a consensus), but I thought: "Hey, maybe if I pull out some examples, we can manage to keep things going..." and so, I did 2 movies, the first one was a blatant test to see if I could rip some videos from yt and keep a overall quality to it. It only features vanguards videos from the "Fight for your Life" topic > www.youtube.com/watch and the second one has all classes, but due to some problems(see video description), I couldn't use more footage that I wanted to www.youtube.com/watch
I thought this would be the perfect moment to try to get things going, as some of you may be playing ME2 again to be prepared to jump into ME3 when it launchs, so why not. Also be sure to check out the group if you want to contribute and please, post any feedback, so we can improve on where is due.

edit; Although if you need footage on classes/builds I'll glady record some new stuff. This game is always fun to play. Well except Reaper IFF and the final boss.

I'm a total luddite who's never even used FRAPS before, but I'm intrigued by what you guys are trying to do. I'm a power menu'er so I dunno how much use my stuff would be for you guys, but you have my moral support, at least.

But I had an idea: have you ever tried jdownloader do download the videos from youtube?
If you just copy a youtube link, it gives you a selection of ALL available formats, ranging from flv to mp4 and the sweet thing is, it even shows you which audio codecs were used.
Well actually the name of the different available files give you those informations, I don't know which program you used to download from youtube and which options it had and I don't know if you even consider going through the whole trouble again (downloading vids from youtube), but maybe jdownloader might help.

Well done. I'm not any good at editing so I don't think I could very help much. I joined the group and subbed on YT though.

Thanks for the sub, about recording, well, I don't know if it we will have time, most of the guys who would like to contribute are inactive(plus, Boz was banned from BSN ;P). But, that doesn't mean we can't make something like this on ME3.

At first we thought this would be some kind of tribute for ME2, as we all will move to Me3 at some point. I know some of us will go back and record a few videos from 2, but it will not be the same, like the share amount of new videos that were uploaded on the last few months on antecipation to new game.

I use Windows Live Movie Maker for my video editing. It works okay for the most part except when I have a lot of video breaks. At that point, my Video Driver keeps crashing. Any attempt to edit together something even half as awesome as your videos would be an exercise in frustration for me.
I know the feelings, my vegas keeps crashing on me everytime I try something more advanced(and it's not my pc's fault as it is a good machine). And belive me, those videos were pretty simple, I had more trouble finding the right scene for the right part of the song, than applying the effects. The old intro I did for my Assassins Creed Brotherhood videos, took me way longer to do it, than anything else(So far, this 32 sec video is recordist of crash and made me re-install vegas 2 times)

I've used the atubecatcher, wich also has alot of available formats to chose, the problem is, not all were reconized by vegas when I tried to import. And when one format worked for a video, it would glitch the other...and so on...
And belive, I don't think I'll do that ever again. I would pay for a FTP server so people who would like to contribute, could upload their videos there, instead.
