It´rather off topic I know, and I do hope bioware doesn´t sue for practising illegal advertising in their forum, but while playing DAO and reading through the forum I just had to share this pic I took a moment ago with you folks.

I present 3 of the great classics, I have many many more in my collection, unfortunately its the only thing which makes me regret having bought DAO in a digital version.

Enjoy the picture and dont get tears in your eyes :).

3 games I never cared for, even though I know they have a cult following. You got Daggerfall in there?:P

now we're talking :P

as for buying digital these days, It took me a while to really stop buying box games but what made it easier for me is that companies don't DO as much as they use to with the box and its contents, including instruction books.. so there is  not really even anything to miss.

Excellent games. BG, Fallout, and PST should be considered the start of the "modern" RPG era as current RPGs mostly trace their style and mechanics from those three games to a much greater extent than they do earlier games.

Somebody who plays current games will feel right at home playing those games although they will consider the graphics extremely dated. Plop them in front of Wizardy, or Bard's Tale, or Ultima III, or Wizard's Crown, or Phantasie, etc etc and they'll likely give up rather quickly even though those are all awesome games.

I miss the Ultima-style games. You can do a lot of things with such a system that you can't do with the modern style. And by "Ultima-style" I mean the real Ultimas, not Ultima XIII and IX.

Yup .. got Daggerfall, Wing Commander Prophecy <-- loved this game, all comand & conquer titles, all NWN titles except the last expansion, all Spellforce titles and many many more ... some are even collecting dust at my ex-wifes house.

I will always have a soft spot in my heart for Black Isle, even if I never really enjoyed Icewind Dale.

Someone should really buy up the IP for Planescape/Torment - that game was awesome.

And a natural "linking" setting between any fantasy worlds (its the hub of the multiverse, or something).

It's all about synergy people!
