I hope it doesn't add any extra things to the game. I refuse to buy into all that technological nonsense like Ipods and Ipads, Mp3, and all that crap.

Video games and their systems could be considered "technological nonsense" also. It's all a matter of perspective. Those that buy Mp3 players and such love music. People that buy consoles and such love video games. There isn't really much difference there if you ask me.

I buy a cellphone to make calls when I'm not at home. If I want to listen to music I will turn on the radio. If I want to check my facebook I will do it at home on my computer where you normally should. If I want to play video games I will turn on my Xbox 360. I don't need to spend $800 for a phone on steroids full of crap that I never use.

This... this is exactly what I asked for when the Galaxy at War system was first announced. It's like Bioware read my thoughts or something.

Also, as someone who owns an iPhone and an iPad.... I'M STOOOOKED

That looks deliciously nerdy.

BUT I'm not getting an iPhone/iPad any time soon, sooooooo....

Same here.

If you go to the article, there's a very short video. Nothing of the app is ready at the moment, all screenshots were of ME3 or something in it.

Infiltrator did have some nice screens though.

I'd estimate Infiltrator to come out before ME3 while datapad to come out alongside it.

I hope you can't get exclusive **** through this since not everyone has an iOS device.

Because they are, alas, only data and not physical objects...

Okay, I just had to.

Hmm I got my iPhone for less than my 360 but fair enough.. Kudos for being able to listen to the radio. I'd go crazy if I had to sit around and find a listenable song on there. =] To be fair, major cities, specifically on the West Coast do play some decent songs on their stations.

(Wow I'm going off topic. Sorry I'm done)

Anyway.. This game thing looks alright. It seems more like a promotional material but I'll still buy it just because it has "Mass Effect" written on it.

You can do most of those on a $200 iPod Touch.

We have great, great radio stations here in Southeast Texas. The morning shows are hilarious!

Call them what you want, but these features do have the potential to ultimately make the game a more immersive experience, and since they don't actually take anything away from the game, you shouldn't be complaining.

I don't think they're complaining it just that some of us are big fans and don't like the expereince to be blocked because of a fancy cell phone.

Yeah, because nothing says "save the galaxy from reapers" like facebook.

Unfortunately, that's how it works.  If you didn't have a PC, Xbox, or PS3, it would be the same thing for ME3.  You need the device to play the game.

Facebook is a legitimate platform, these days.  Whatever that means for gaming.

Well my argument against that is that yeah I agree with you on the consoles but their made specifically for gaming.

the kotaku article also mentioned very briefly: "In addition to the the upcoming iOS game Mass Effect: Infiltrator, BioWare also announced an app called 'Datapad' that would allow you to 'stay in touch with all of the info in Mass Effect 3,' check the status of the war in the galaxy map, and even get messages from game characters."

someone who commented on the kotaku article also posted this, which i hadn't seen before and i lurve! big wrex fan, obvs.

I live in a town where internet access in nonexistant in most areas, no big stores to buy radio's, computer is almost worthless for gaming since the industry is pushing for internet in EVERYTHING, and my xbox has no internet access unless I drag it to a friends house.

With an iphone I can surf the net anywhere in my county, listen to the radio (pandora, I heart radio), play games, stay connected with friends on facebook, and to top it all off this is all for one monthly payment that is cheaper than if I were to get all this separately in many bills.

As much as I crave full internet access, the iphone is a life saver.
