I like to be FAR FAR away from my target, stealthed, in cover and head shot them with my sniper rifle boosted with warp ammo.

What about you?

You must have played a different version of ME2 than me.

Yeah most do. Apart from squad mates, i dont ever use biotics. My SMG is my ''crap they are too close'' goto weapon. My Incinerate power is for the times when im running low on sniper ammo or im getting overwhelmed. And i never played on insanity either :D.

I am genuinely curious as to how you managed to find long range in a corridor shooter.

You really have not played the game have you?

EDIT - Out of pity for you, i will describe the basic idea of what the ranges are. Short range is melee to shotgun effective range. Medium is shotgun to effective SMG range. Long range is anything beyond the point where SMG is too inaccurate.

Move quietly without being seen and pick everyone off one by one with my pocket knife. But in Mass Effect I gotta shoot s**t, so Its the widow and heavy pistol for me. Infiltrator is the only class that presents a challenge.

Is this a joke?

Sounds like a bad one, I found the Infiltrator to be the most boring class.

The class who is specifically built to be the best at standing away from the fight and being invisible is the most challenging?

Wait what?

Seriously, where are you guys finding long range in ME2? 80% of the combat missions were a series of hallways with boxes.

I don't know. I preached Shotgun love on the first page.

i played infiltrator on insanity. Was too easy. Harbingers' " We will find you again, " Was worth it though

I was just playing my 'no weapons' shep - biotics only. Was doing the Garrus recruitment mission and the whole time i was practically begging for my sniper rifle back. Shooting over the bridge and in the 3 different back entrances - long range. 80% of the game is short range? Pfft!

There's a lot more long range shots to be had than you'd think, even times when you can be so far from the enemy that they can't detect you(and that without stuffing yourself in the opposite corner!). Trust me, those who play Infiltrator for CQC are few, the sniper is not left wanting.

This.

Once you play an infiltrator for so long... you wont want to go back. I very much enjoy the fact that most of the time, i kill the enemy well before they can touch me. And that is exactly how i like it. Most of the game, you CAN get into long range. Just seems most players here dont WANT to - and thus think long range is impossible.

EDIT - I swear this guy must be hacking. Just seems unlikely.

I like the enemy to be aiming and shooting at me, as I outperform them with a headshot from the Widow. Or, Wide singularity to catch a couple of guys, then the throw with the radius to send them flying at FTL speeds.

Edit: Why hacking? The Infiltrator is just like that, too damn easy, yet satisfying....

Mainly setting them on fire with incinerate and then taking them out while they're screaming about being on fire.

My Shepard (engineer) can be a bit sadistic at times. :P

My preferred method of killing on my Soldier/Commando is storming into the area with my Mattock at the ready, I pop Heightened Adrenaline Rush and put a couple rounds in the head of each enemy (I play on the PC so it's easier to control, and besides, I'm a VERY good shot). When Heightened Adrenaline Rush runs out and the dust settles, all that's left are corpses.

On my Infiltrator/Agent I prefer to deliver death from afar while in Stealth with the M-98 Widow and Armor Piercing Rounds. I turn heads into puffs of red mist. One shot, one kill baby Hoah!

Even when I play as Vanguard. I gotta say I rather kill my foes from mid-range with my assault rifles. But yeah, sometimes I just want to CHAAAAAARGE! -> AND UNLOAD MY SHOTGUN TO THEIR PRETTY FACES! It's fun.

It takes some getting used to and requires patience.  ME1 I found to be a lot more fun with level 60 maxed power characters, but ME2 had its pluses.

Pretty much.  If I can kill an enemy with a single headshot, I will.

I also enjoy knocking enemies off ledges when the opportunity arises.  A well-placed concussive shot will always make me smile.  This is also why I like to bring a biotic teammate along with me (though I have yet to make a biotic Shepard).

I did quite enjoy soldier though. Assault rifle accuracy was a b--- though and really annoyed me.

With guns, guns, and more guns.  So Soldier.  Assault rifles, sniper rifles, and ammo powers are my preferred methods of destruction.

Tungsten ammo. Didn't even discover it until this final playthrough. It doubles the blood splash so it really feels like you're shredding the poor mooks. The corridor walls look like Jackson ****** paintings after my crew has blazed through.

Playing as an Adept I would throw out a Singularity into a group of enemies then I would Warp an enemy to watch them fly and die from the explosion. Playing as a Vanguard (and yes I know I am doing it wrong) I would Charge into a group of enemies and light them up with the Mattock.
