agreed and tbh the only reason why i got xbox live around 2010 was for mass effect 1 and 2 dlcs believe it or not. mass effect is probably the only games i have bought dlc for other than like mk and wwe 12

Yeah, same basically. Bioware is the only company that has ever gotten me to buy DLC. I am venehmently opposed to it. It never adds enough to the game to be worth the value they charge for it.

But since bioware's games are so story focused I end up buying the story based ones. Still not worth the price charged but overall they are far far better than the little gimmiks normally sold. And they do enhance the experience just barely enough for me to begrudgingly fork over my money.

As I shall I do again. Begrudgingly. Oh wait, I already said that. Hell I might actually get gold to play the multiplayer.

*hemorrhages money in biowares general direction*

If i buy ME3, i'll wait for a quick feed back of the comunity on this DLC.

Well, that's the great thing about DLC. Nobody makes you buy it.

How do you figure? LotSB was hardly Day 1. More like day 224.

...Yes, I figured that out. Don't look at me that way.

I'll just copy/paste what I said on GI.

If this Day One DLC is in addition to the Day One DLC being released exclusivily with the CE (all others have to pay extra) it's unacceptable. Besides the fact, that if content is ready at launch, it should be in the main game, and besides the fact that EA/Bioware is already giving the finger to anyone who doesn't buy new, releasing a game with two pieces of ten dollar, day one DLC, is not okay. I can safely say that if this is real, I won't be buying it. I long for the days when extra content, was extra content, not something that was gutted from the main game to be sold at an exorbitant fee, the day the game came out.

People who buy the game used aren't customers of EA/Bioware.

Batman Arkham City had the same deal. On release day you could buy the challenge maps, Robin, Nightwing and the costume packs. They all came out the next month anyway, but there was an option to get them earlier. I am just worried that if this is the secrect squad mate DLC that comes with the CE, people are going to be duped into buying the same content twice. If I go and pay off my preorder at some point this week I'll see if my Gamestop has it. I can wait for DLc though honestly. I'm going to be busy with the main game on day 1.

People who buy don't buy the CE, don't get the Prothean DLC, even if they pay the full 60 dollars. And if this DLC isn't the Prothean DLC, no one will get it for free.

Blame Warden's Keep.  Granted, it was $7, not $10, but the principle was the same, and it apparently worked out well for them.

Why would anybody pre-order DLC? It doesn't run out.

I guess if it is a way to get it earlier, but meh, seems odd.

Warden's Keep was day one? I wasn't aware, I heard about DAO word of mouth a few months after release. Looks like I accidently supported something I hate.

Well with Batman it was only available for purchase on the release date. This preordering DLC thing is new. I agree it seems very odd. Makes more sense to me to wait and buy it off of XBL/Origin/PSN than from a Gamestop.

Well, I'd understand if you could get it in some form of physical form, like a disposable USB drive or something.

But you just have to go home and download it off your own bandwidth anyway. So yeah, seems way easier to just buy it off the system market.

I could see exclusive pre-order DLC as a reward for getting the DLC ....... pre-ordered.

wait a minute.....

Looks like EA has a new executive of additional profit margins.

msmpsn makes an excellent point there. In fact, I'd say that sums up the online pass argument as concisely as possible. In regard to Slidell505's 2nd remark, I agree. If the "From Dust" DLC is an additional item and expense above and beyond the CE then it is total bs. My previous post in this thread makes my opinion on day 1 DLC quite clear, btw.

CE Bonus Char and Mission will be available on day 1 for purchase (if you didn't purchase the CE). If there's no other Day 1 DLC... that that's what we're looking at.

Okay, I wish that Mr. Silverman would always wear a suit. He somehow looks way less douchey (sorry David) in a suit than an N7 shirt. Perhaps that's because, valid or not, he comes across to me as a marketing guy and not a gamer. I usually find suits to be more douchey, but I suppose not nearly so much as someone pretending to be something they're not.

I sincearly intend no insult to David Silverman in my comments. Just giving my honest, if blunt, opinion.

Edit: Sorry for the off topic-ness

Yep... I figured the title "From Dust" hinted at the "secret" DLC character. (which was blown open by leaks and spoilers).
Anyway, good to know, I guess, heck it's less than a month away at this point anyway.

Bioware's PR stuff is a complete disaster.

Hey Bioware, fire your PR / Marketing department and hire me. I can keep my mouth shut and know not to send everything out as soon as I get my hands on it. I'll work for the occasional poutine lunch and a lower salary than the current yes man/woman. I also actually play video games and know Marilyn Manson doesn't resonate with today's gamers and rpg fans.

Dude i love you for that comment hahaha
