Also, remember hitting some walls, if you hit the right brick, there are chances to get a new code that unlocks the melee combos*

*Promotion only avaiable on USA and Canada.

This is disturbing. For those of us that do not have internet access to their console, is there any confirmation as to whether this DLC is integral to the story? I.e. if we don't download it on day one, we'll be missing significant story? For instance, I did not think Zaeed was integral to ME2 and I downloaded it several months after release when I could find internet to update my system. I do not like the inference that the CE is the real version of the game and the standard version is a diminished product.

why can't Bioware clarify whether or not the day 1 dlc IS the character included in the CE? I mean do they want us to intentionally order something twice. I mean I can understand keeping other details under wraps, but to not tell the people who already shelled out 79.99 on the CE you do not need to spend another 10.00 seems a little slimy

Well, the DLC won't desappear like the CE, so, no need to preorder it in advance.

I'll look into that as soon as I figure out why people are pre-ordering DLC.

From Dust. Now that is a simple, reasonable, non-spoilery name for a DLC. Why couldn't then have just revealed that way back in June? Would have been one hell of a better move than spelling out the fact that we would get a Prothean squadmate, and then Bioware wouldn't have had to spend the next nine months quietly denying in only to reveal it as true when the game releases. Seriously Bioware, your marketing makes absolutely zero sense.

still my original question stands that tehre is nO reason that Bioware is being vague about this dlc - simply say it is the collector's edition character and move on. I mean granted I would never preorder a dlc anyway but I am probably going to stop reading the forums after the demo comes out and information like this might be helpful. I guess what I am saying is Biowares marketing is becoming one big ball of confusing...

That's the point! Pre-ordering from Gamestop gives us a discount? Cause otherwise I really can't see why I should pre-order a DLC...

No, no, no. The question is not why.

The question is how.
How the **** do you pre-order DLC.

You don't. Gamestop shouldn't be selling this untill release day.

If the DLC is not the one of the CE and pre-ordering has some economic benefits, why not?! I've loved ME DLCs( appearance packs excluded), so I think it could worth it...

DLC doesn't *go* anywhere. You don't log into the marketplace and see, "I'm sorry, we're sold out of DLC today, please check back tomorrow".

There's no benefit to physically going to the store to buy it. It's actually additional work.

Fair enough if you are already there and want to just pay it, but people are talking about going there to pre-order it. It's illogical.

You can buy points digitally through paypal, which now has an option to load cash through greendot. Which means anyone who uses internet services should probably have some sort of internet cash lying around.

Though if it's the only way you can get it, obviously. Doesn't seem like that was the direction people were going through.

lol. All I can say is if this wasnt the last game in the trilogy, I wouldnt even bother with this crap. The're really sticking it to people. If they are going to keep charging people full price for a game with the current day one dlc I think people will finally see that these corperations that they are so loyal to will gladly take every dollar they have with a smile on their face. They need to sell it for half price and people can either invest in the game by buying the full experience or include the full game at full price, not sell it to us in chunks starting on release day. In the end the consumers have the power and can say no to this with their wallets.

This nickle and diming stuff is insulting.

To anyone thinking the dlc is a certain new ancient squadmate, that squady plays too large a role to make it dlc. You would be screwed without them.

In making him dlc, they would be treating every dedicated buyer like pirates, this would be marketing sepukku.  Kick your fans in the daddy bags and you kick yourself there as well.  Fans see this and the reaction is to pirate it.  Once it was known that this was happening, that they were paying full price for half a game, they would sell far fewer copies, especially on pc.  $10 per copy is not worth the uproar this would incite, the number of honest gamers it would turn pirate.

Prothy isn't dlc.

Still think DLC should be priced as a percentage of the main game. Original game selling for $60, DLC package priced at say 10%, costs $6. Selling for $30 on average, costs $3.

God, this is just disgusting. I am this close to giving up with Mass Effect 3 completely, and if this was comming from almost any other game series I would have just cancelled my pre-order and called it a day.

Origin is bad enough, but really, DLC is content made post-launch that is sold to improve an existing game. There is no reason this couldn't just be included in the game in the first place, and making people pay extra for what should be included in the game at launch is really crossing the line.

Zaeed was free to all people who bought the game new and Kasumi was unfinished, but from the sounds of it this is completed and ready-to go content that we will all have to pay for, new or used. They really have no excuse not to include it in the game from the go.

The fact that you can pre-order it only makes the whole thing even worse. It's like they've tricked you into ordering half a game and now insist you pay for the other half as well. I hope that more people call them out on this becuase they are really taking it too far this time <_<

Yeah, it's like Zaeed DLC, I think.

It seems that someone got screwed over, instead.  Because this just doesn't make sense.
