God, this is just disgusting. I am this close to giving up with Mass Effect 3 completely, and if this was comming from almost any other game series I would have just cancelled my pre-order and called it a day.

Origin is bad enough, but really, DLC is content made post-launch that is sold to improve an existing game. There is no reason this couldn't just be included in the game in the first place, and making people pay extra for what should be included in the game at launch is really crossing the line.

Zaeed was free to all people who bought the game new and Kasumi was unfinished, but from the sounds of it this is completed and ready-to go content that we will all have to pay for, new or used. They really have no excuse not to include it in the game from the go.

The fact that you can pre-order it only makes the whole thing even worse. It's like they've tricked you into ordering half a game and now insist you pay for the other half as well. I hope that more people call them out on this becuase they are really taking it too far this time <_<

Yes, it's stupid.

The denial in this thread is oh so delicious. Prothy is one character, nothing more. And from how involved his dialogue is, he seems to definitely be worth the price of Kasumi at least--and that's not counting anything we know about his actual mission. It is a bit troubling that they knew this would happen from the start, but don't be pointing fingers about "selling half a game" or that. ME3 is perfectly playable and enjoyable without Prothy.

How do you get from "no reason this couldn't just be included" to "should be included"?

"It's obvious " is not an adequate response.

My topic got locked. I still want to find out is this a all-new separate DLC or it's the one you get with Collectors Edition?

That is the current discusion on here too. No one knows and will not know until A) Bioware tells us B) they don't tell us and let us go all the way to release day and get hands on info.

And still no info on whether or not this is the mission and character from the CE?

This is why I'll just be pre-ordering a regular version of ME3 - one week before the European release date. After the smoke clears and everyone's done raging, I'll calmly sift through the available DLC and consider buying anything that actually adds new content to the game (there's nothing quite as useless as a few new guns or outfits) and leave the rest well enough alone.

Just like day-one patches, this whole day-one DLC business is horsesh*t.

agreed, i image word will come out as to what this is.....no need to get to concerned about it....especially if you have your console or pc set so you can purchase DLC at home, the marketplace (on xbox live) generally will give you a thorough description of what you are buying.....

i'm gonna go pick up my preorder, go home and fireup the console and see if there's extra dlc available....

bioware, it would be nice for some clarity on this....

Pre-ordering DLC, it just seems so... unnecessary. If it's the DLC included in the CE, fine, I won't have to buy it... if not: SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY!

Had a brief chat with a clerk at Gamestop. He said that the DLC got put in the point of sale system early and wasn't supposed to be there. It got yanked as soon as they realized the mistake. He had no idea what the content actually was.

You know, I wouldn't mind another squadmate. The current DLC squadmate is cool but I want one more to make the total number of squadmates an even number. Odd numbers are just odd.

I also love DLC. As in content that is actually created and sold post-release which adds content to an existing game. Nobody is complaining about such content.

However ripping content from the main game and then marketing it before the core game is released and selling it seperately as 'DLC' (Zaeed, contents of the CE, now apparently From Dust etc) is something that should be put a stop to. Why not just release nothing but the main quest next time? Any side quests could be sold for £1 as 'DLC' with squadmates/companions for £10. And if you pre-order the game you get one squadmate free and a highly advanced cerberus ****** blaster gun.

How do you figure the content was ripped from the main game? Do you really think that Bio's designers were too stupid to remember that they were going to want something for Day 1 DLC? That they didn't plan on making that DLC all the way from project inception?

Edit: of course, the plan could have been "whichever secondary character needs more work gets to be the DLC character." Doesn't change much -- the plan still was always "ME3 and Day 1 DLCs."

I don't think it's new DLC, but the DLC character that is given to owners of the CE. "FromDust" is a fitting title for the Prothean character.

If you guys get the demo of the reckoning its a free way to get armor for 3 just load it up and within a few seconds you get popups about the game and then ME3 armor hopefully the helmets toggle with these.
