Yeah, well, that's like 90% of the problem with BSN.

Hey, I'm just practicing gettin' my rage on just in case the worst case scenario happens to be true.

If not, then hey, at least we know nerdrage.exe is still compatible with the Cheez OS.

And was this in the press or just forum rumor?

It came from some game journalist. I wish I could recall, but I honestly cannot remember which one it was. I am aware that Ggming journalists are quite susceptible to writing information that they took out of context.

But seriously, enough people we all know, like MP this it's optional. Don't get your plus sized panties in knots... take something that will take that edge off

I get undersized ones so it feels like their in a knot all the time.

That would actually be the best surprise ending ever.

Yes. Also, if you don't play for two weeks straight, the game will kill your pets and/or family. If you lack either, it schedules a visit from Jehovah's Witnesseses instead.

I disagree. Best surprise ending would be death by life-action cow.

See, if I were Microsoft, I'd release the rights as a goodwill gesture.  I mean, they put Kinect in the damn thing.  KINECT!

But Kirrahe, Fist, Shiala, and Rana Thanoptis don't give you the best ending.  You miss content, sure, but so does everyone that doesn't buy DLC.  That said, you don't need DLC to beat the game, either.

I am really, really hoping that all this iFace/PadBook really ISN'T required to win, and that it just provides bonus points that let you skip sidequests, like the devs said.  That's fair.  But if not...

That would be awesome.

But yeah, I see your point. It's definetly overkill at this point. I'm not going to buy a bunch of action figures just to get DLC either. It's bad enough I have a growing science fiction collection, I don't think adding action figures to the mix is going to help me out too much.

I think it would be better if the Space Cow came in after the victory against the Reapers and took Shepard on his magic carpet for an adventure in Koridai.

Squadallah! We're off!

If this is true, if we are obligated to play mp or stuff outside the game to get 100% galaxy readiness, it's game design disaster and marketing disaster. PERIOD. I don't remember any game that made the single player mode incomplete without achievements on tasks outside it. Not mentioning it's a stab on core rpg fans hearts. This 5 months after Skyrim.

I'm gonna sleep and fortunately this will be cleared up as false. I'd be glad to find a complete and full explanation on Galaxy at War ASAP. I'm confused as hell.

I know.  They're really going to town with this DLC thing.  It's absurd.

I mean, I was going to get Mordin and Legion (and MAYBE Garrus) anyway, but COME ON, GUYS.

It's seems pretty obvious that GaW will work like this:

Do some non-singleplayer campaign stuff ---> Get some GR points

As I said before, it may be technically true that you can achieve the perfect ending in SP alone, but it may be intentionally so bothersome that even die-hard SP players will be forced into MP instead.

I completed the mineral colection quests in ME1.  Don't underestimate me.

Even though I'll be goofing off in multi anyway BUT STILL, NO INTERNET MEANS MAKO TIME.

I thought it had been confirmed by the devs a few times now that MP is optional and that you can achieve a "perfect" ending only playing SP.

Possibly. Hopefully Bioware comes in and debunks that whole "50% readiness that deteriorates over time" silliness. Or we'll just have to see for ourselves on March 6.

I'm partial to some of them. If I buy one i'll have to hide it under my matress or something. I don't want anyone to get the wrong idea, I do have an image to maintain.  I just hope no one comes around like "how did you get that armor?" Uhhh.........

I intend to go digging around for this post, but I did see that there was a thread earlier today that suggested that the way the GaW works is that the single-player actually does have a constant Galaxy Readiness and what effects your ability to "win" is a Military Strength Value that is multiplied by your Galaxy Readiness. So assuming you had 1000 Strength and 50% Readiness, you would have a score of 500. What the multiplayer and other things would do is increase your Galaxy Readiness, so assuming you played some MP and got GR of 75%, you would need less Military Strength to have that same score of 500 than a SP-only player that would need 1000 to do it.

EDIT: @AxisEvolve: Technically, that particular journalist never stated who that deterioration applies to. Assuming the above suggestion is correct, that effect might end at 50%. That would mean that those who involve themselves with the other means of gaining resources would be the ones that get that effect. BioWare stated that the boost from these other resources effects all of your games, so this would be the only way to counteract a gamer from getting a 100% Readiness after playing 10 hours of multiplayer and have it for all of their save for the rest of their life.

I was talking about how the various apps and whatnot will work, not how the game makes use of the GR rating.  At root, all they are there for is to give you some extra points.

If we need the equivalent of the ME1 mineral quests to get the perfect ending with pure SP, it is exactly what qualifies as "too bothersome" in my eyes.

I should get a SP reward for whacking BSN members in the head with a shovel.
