ME 2 might have had "less" guns but it actualy had more options for each weapon slot. In ME 1 each slot had two models that varied in color from time to time. In ME 2 each weapon actualy felt unique and different.

Since when did ME1 have 238 weapons?

Its called loot.

typicaly found in RPGs

here a link to the 102 assault rifles in ME1
masseffect.wikia.com/wiki/Assault_Rifles

Realistically speaking, ME1 had:

Three Assault Rifles
Two Sniper Rifles
Two Pistols
Three Shotguns

10 weapons going by unique weapon models.  ME2 has twice that.  ME3 has all of the weapons from ME2 as well as a dozen or so more.

I don't know that I'd even go that far, given that all the ME1 weapons in a class felt exactly the same.

lets say ME1 had 1 assault rifle, 1 shotgun, 1 sniper rifle.......

now compare that assault rifle to the the 3 in mass effct 2
compare the sniper rifles
YOU CANNOT TELL ME that the shotgun in ME1, which you say there is only one, isnt 10 times better then those marshmellow gun in ME2

That's because all of the weapons in ME 1 were a joke, overpowered in a game without a balanced combat system.

Honestly, I did like the ME1 shotgun a bit better, though I wouldn't go as far as "10 times".  My point however was that none of the shotguns in ME1 feel any different from one another.  Same for the other weapon types.

heres were my facetious argument comes into play =0....... in skyrim you swing the saaaaaaame sword. it looks a little diferent, it does more damage. but its the saaaaaaaaaaame swinging. i use skyrim because its just a popular RPG, any other RPG can apply.

if you want a variety of weapons..........Image IPBImage IPBImage IPB go play call of dutyImage IPB

lololololololol @ ME1 having a crapton of weapons.

Same weapons repeated over and over again with minimal upgrades until Spectre weapons, which then render all other weapons useless. Same thing with mods, armor, etc. You inventory-****s are ridiculous.

i kinda like getting better weapons by looting them.... sure mass effect 1 wasnt perfect. but jesus ME2  was unaccetable. DINT EVEN HAVE STATS ON THE GUNS.

how are we gona come across new weapons in ME3? you think we'll beat a boss and loot them, or find them in a chest?

no. it'll be LEVEL 10 - Delta Labs. were the Rocket Launcher will make its first apearance....

 Now I am confused. If its the holy trilogy of RPG you refer to(tank, mage, rogue) then you still have me lost. ME1 had not thief/rogue class

The OP is just trolling living in nostalgiaville trying to pretend ME 1 is a better game when in reality ME 2 was 10 times better than ME 1.

There are mods you can add to your guns anyways, so even if it had the same number of guns as in ME2, it would still feel as if there were a ton more options.
