Is ME3 becoming a bit too gimmicky??

I'm starting to feel a bit out of my comfort zone here though....
What's with all these weird add on's? Multiplayer (which is looking pretty sick now I have to say)Kinect, IPod app... Even things like adding Chobot to the cast is pretty gimmicky, just an excuse to name drop really. I don't think I'm gonna use half these features... Probably just multiplayer a few times :/
What do you guys think? Are all these things really necessary? Or are they just making the game feel tacky and cheap? Should Biowares efforts be focused on other aspects of the game?

However, I think ME3 can still be mature with all of that stuff.

The iOS thing? ME2 had another one (IT was garbage), but it existed and it served a purpose. Same thing with the new one.
How does Jessica Chobot make it tacky, but Keith David, Mark Meer, Yvonne Strahovski, or any of the other big names don't?
Not to sound like a ******, but none of the things you mentioned make it tacky.

Tacky isn't the right word, but completely unnecessary is the right phrase. And I'd hardly call Mark Meer a big name. Bioware could have saved allot of money (and maybe put that money into making the game better) had they not hired, Kieth David, Martin Sheen, Yvonne Strahovsik, Freddie Prince Jr, and Tricia Helfer. I'd imagine Seth Green and Chobot aren't that expensive. Although I do have a problem with Chobot being in the game it's more of my dislike for the "Us nerds huh?" mentality. It's pretty unfounded, but at least I can indetify it as such. However I'd argue my dislike for her character model is reasonable.

Chobot doesn't make it tacky? Are you serious? Chobot is nowhere near the league of Keith David, and not even close to the league of Mark Meer or Yvonne Strahovski. She's a games journalist who got the job because she's considered hot.
Mark Meer does a bit of improv, he's really not the A list celebrity you seem to think. Jennifer Hale probably cost more than him.

To me, god no. But that's the reason she's in here.
Oh, and the free 10/10 from IGN.

... I never said he was A-list. He is an incredibly good voice actor though. Watch an interview with him and see his work in action.

I didn't mean Meer in the sense of him being a big name.
Meer is a silly guy. Have you seen his interviews and footage of him recording?
Chobot is silly too (But tries a bit too hard, perhaps).

Because if something that they don't like happens, it immediately becomes tacky.AgitatedLemon wrote...

Bioware has stated that they want Mass Effect to be as expansive as Star Wars. You can't do that with three games. Star Wars didn't do it with three movies. They did it with comics and novels. Bioware is doing it with games for smartphones.

I'm sorry but after seeing Martin Sheen as the TIM absolutely no one else should have been given that part. Seriously, he played it perfectly.

If you knew anything about Chobot, her getting the job is more about her being a big fan of Mass Effect more than it is about her looks.Unit-Alpha wrote...

I'm glad you put journalist in quotes. And if we're shoehorning in people from the gaming press, put in Dan Ryckert. He's awesome.
