Little girl?

So if you're female, I guess that kid that gets disintegrated is a little girl then? Don't know why that would change.

I would think it is possible that the Game Informer journalist may have played an older build of the game where it was a boy for either gender (as in a placeholder)

Most likely.

Hmm, either Shepard is bat sh!t crazy and seeing things or its a paradox. Well its already a paradox since you are playing femshep.

A theory has been floating around that the child may not be real and is in fact Shepard hallucinating (for whatever reason). It's been discussed at length a few times before and we pretty much just agreed to wait and see about it.

The kid could be a hallucination brought on due to indoctrination. Or perhaps at this point of the story, Shepard should rather be in a straitjacket than an alliance uniform.

Thing is I don't see why the kid is a hallucination. It would be much more dramatic if the kid was real. The point of adding something like this is to create drama.

Yeah because the kid looked like Shepard, the kid randomly appears and disapears, and then no one seems to notice/bother helping the kid when he is struggleing to get into the shuttle. It's as if only Shepard sees that kid.

So if this kid looks like femShep, therefore a redheaded little girl, it gives little more to this theory.

Now when we play and the kid looks similiar to just anyone's Shepard, then that theory's really coming true. It's just, we really can't say it's completely true until fully confirmed in ME3 through something like, more hallucinations(not via making out with Thane) and Reapers telling us they are screwing with Shepard's head.

I mean in Overlord Shepard's mind got taken over so easly, why wouldn't it be so easy for the Reapers to start doing the same, the masters of mind messing and indoctrination. Then again, that could just be a minor detail to be ignored.

Question.

Why would it bad to release FemShep trailer after ME3 Demo?

Because why release a trailer to something that's already playable?

Yep,  if were going to play her in the demo and actually experience it ourselves then seeing a trailer based on game footage after the demo becomes a bit irrelevant.  Yeah we may see some new footage, but a lot of its potential will have been lost.

If they were going to do it after it would have to be really awesome.  Like CGI launch trailer awesome.   B)

What about the kid being real AND an hallucination? I mean, it could be that when the kid dies, Shepard keeps seeing him in different places.

Well honestly, if it's not a hallucination I'm not going to cry over it. Making the kid a little girl with femShep and/or making that kid just look like anyone's Shepard would add a lot more dramatic impact to the kid dying.

The trailer with the kid and toy spaceship is not the female Shepard trailer.

Or maybe, just maybe, Saltzman made a mistake.
Big shocker, I know.

Technically if Shepard sees and hears a child that does not exist then yes it's a hallucination. If Shepard believes the child was real versus realizes it was a hallucination, then it's a delusion or false belief. So, if there aree hallucinations and delusions then Shepard is technically psychotic but a situationally induced psychosis. Which could alleviate once removed from the situation. Should Shepard have adequate insight, then he/she will be able to realize they were being influenced. If not then that's another situation which could show Shepard continuing to be influenced and thus could show a decline in his cognitive functioning.

The overall outcome depends on if you like psychological thrillers or just drama.

It could be anything.  Nice to see something else interesting happening as well as it being just about femshep.

Anyway the opening child could actually be Shepard as a little girl dreaming about commanding a starship?  Whos to say that one kid in the early demo is the only one?
