 I have a play through on the xbox, so this may not work.  Is it possible to go through the Landsmeet and have both Loghain and Alistair survive?  I am planning to put Alistair (hardened) on the throne, but have my Warden recruit Loghain.  

Is this a possible scenario, and if so, what choices are key in making this come about?
Additional info:  Alistair was romanced, if that will make a difference.  Friendship is at 95 % even after break up and romance with another character.

There are 2 possible ways to have Alistair survive, however, neither will allow him to be in your party any more if you allow Loghain to live. But yes, a hardened Alistair that's been convinced to marry Anora will rule with her.

Note: being in a romance is not a problem for getting Anora and Alistair to agree to marry. You could even get them both to agree to let him keep you as his mistress if you like.

(EDIT: Just read your post again. You broke it off with him, so nevermind that mistress bit)

Also, you must not let Alistair duel Loghain. Whenever he does so he executes Loghain immediately without your say-so.

I am fairly sure what the OP wants is possible.

If I choose to let loghain live, alistair throws his fit but then I have a persuade option for him to rule with anora.

It's my 2nd playthrough (first one I played a male warden, ended up on the throne with Anora, and have Leliana as mistress).

I'm a female mage warden now, romancing Alistair. I'm thinking of supporting Anora on the throne because I'm all anti-establishment rule (believed that Anora is capable ruler despite her non-nobility status). The ideal scenario for this Walkthrough is that they're supposed to be riding off to the sunset as 2 greywardens.

Do I need to harden Alistair at all or do I let him be 'soft' and then support Anora for the throne?

If you're not putting Alistair on the throne, there's not much reason to harden him. Just kill Loghain (or let Alistair do it) and you'll be fine.
