It will be done when it is done. We have encountered some technical stuff that is getting in the way of things. We had hoped it would be up already today, but we'll see. Currently I have no ETA.

Probably not intentional and I don't really know how many people on here would even know/remember the KOTOR 2 Restoration Project, but that phrase still haunts my gaming nightmares.

On topic: See that's all we wanted. Now we can continue with our sad, boring lives.

Ah yes Team Gizka... what a nightmare that was... Luckily this announcement would have to be delayed about 5 more years to reach that level!

Ah. "Team Gizka." a group  of modders that wanted to rebuild the debacle that was Knights of the Old Republic II.

We have dismissed that claim.

If only for the hardcap level raise (20 in the first, 50 in the second).

Level 20... that's just horrendous. I realize they were going for a d20 system through and through, but it was just too little for a game of such magnitude.

Wait a minute, early access? What is this madness?

Getting the multiplayer portion of the demo on the 14th (as in, when the single-player demo is out) instead of having to wait an extra three days for the 17th.

oh please. I could get through a Kotor 1 playthrough without bugs. I couldn't get past Damaged Ebon Hawk or Peragus without at least one in Kotor 2.

I think that could go either way. At least KOTOR had an ending. KOTOR II you landed on a planet and surprise: "The End!". Literally, no build up, no resolution, just "Hey, here's the end of the game. Never mind about the second half of the story we cut out. It wasn't important anyways. You'll find out what happens in the KOTOR 3. Wait, what? There isn't going to be one? Opps..."

Actually, Star Wars games kind of have a habit of that. I would say Force Unleashed II is the biggest offender, but they literally saved the entire plotline of the game for the sequel. FU II wasn't sequel, it was a prologue to one. One that was cancelled before it even started. KOTOR II at least gave me half the story.

And I'm waaaaay off topic now, so I'll just stop here.

Nope, I don't actually intend to touch the multiplayer portion of the demo, so not especially so.

But yeah, that is of course another option. Folks who purchased BF3 have access on Tuesday.

haha that's okay I hate cod with a passion and didn't really give a sh*t when I bought battlefield 3. it surprised me tho, it's more fun than I expected. But like all shooters it gets boring fast and the main reason I bought it was only for early access. I'll probably sell it soon anyway

You payed $60 so you could play a MP demo three days early? Impressive.

Kotor I and Kotor II are forever tied for me. I loved them both but I always lean more towards 1 because Revan is my favorite character in star wars ever.

Actually I believe a a team from the modding team made a restoration project to restore the originally intended ending for KOTOR II.

I know for certain a Restoration mod exists for other gameplay such as adding the planet that was cut back in restoring a lot of dialogue that was cut but was still on the discs as well as expanding missions such as the defence on Dantoine.

The ending mod I believe is seperate.... have to see how that went.

this is good to know.

Wondering now what is meant by "technical stuff" getting in the way. If I were to guess is that they are having troubles who gets early access and who don't. And maybe they didn't expect that many players to be able to get early access. Cause if you look a sales(pre) They could be enough to beta an MMO, which could overload their resources.

I'll give you a hint - not well. A different group did restore the droid planet and a good bit of cut content, but the big restoration project collapsed in on itself after the beta release in a nuclear-style flame war. I was around for a bit during that time, but things went down hill pretty fast from there.

Your 'friend' is an absolute mug then if he's going to give you near enough retail value for a second hand game. Especially considering BF requires an Online Pass to play, which he would have to purchase seperately as you've used it.

What no build up? Looks like someone didn't even understand the plot

Most of key KOTOR 2 plots points were wrapped during the course of the game and the ending. You found out what Kreia's goal was and stopped her (along with other SIth Lords), you've discovered what happened to your player character, you've discovered why Revan disappeared etc. The ending set up the ground for K3 but how was it bad exactly?

Thanks for the information Chris, that was what I was looking for.  An "I don't know and thus can't tell you" is always better than silence on the subject.
