For reasons unknown, TIM has betrayed the good guys and sided with the Reapers. Do you believe this is due to indoctrination or outside influence or both? Should we be able to turn him back to the good guys?

I believe there should be some way to turn him, and giving him the Collector Base in ME2 should have some sort of beneficent affect, as well as destroying it.

One Cerberus agent is trying to stop TIM: social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/325/index/9192539

Don't worry. Space Jesus (Commander Shepard) will cure Cerberus. Not sure about TIM though.

My personal hope would be that Shepard takes out the Illusive Man and  could put Miranda, Jacob, or another peripherally Cerberus related character in charge of Cerberus as the new 'Illusive Man'. I guess that would be sort of a repeat of Lair of the Shadow Broker, though. Also, I probably wouldn't even take that option on my main playthrough.

I do not believe that TIM has actually turned like Anakin did in SW3.

I believe his more like Revan's portrayal in SWKOTOR2. Working the evil mojo to save the good mojo.

TIM hasn't sided with the Reapers.

Bioware's just decided to give him the idiot ball ala Orsino & Meredith from DA2.

I think Cerberus is indoctrinated and evil for the most part. Basically like Saren and the geth from ME 1. Saren could be saved... I guess. That's about as much as I expect out of anyone from Cerberus.

You can't have a ceberus thread without a paragon vs. renegade war.

I'll destroy Cerberus, but let TIM live. It's not really a case of "What measure is a mook" but I think it'd be the worse fate for him to be left with nothing but rubble. In a way he's pitiable.

Plus, dat voice.

There's always the Shadow Broker scenario, but TIM changed when he became a partial husk and he doesn't view the universe the way other characters do. I think it would be a disservice to the character for Shepard's paragade silver tongue to change that.

Cerberus is easy enough to deal with. Just feed him some cake and he's all good.

Cerberus are (or at least were) the good guys IMO. The ends justified the means. I can only guess TIM got indoctrinated by studying reaper tech. Even if that is the case, he's still a hero for bringing Shepard back.

I don't know if I care about saving Cerberus. I mean, as a concept they certainly could use some help it seems. Going from 'extremists with ambiguous intentions' to 'bad guys aligning with other bad guys for the sake of being bad guys bad blehh' and all that.

Granted, I haven't played the game/ read the script/ seen the future so I can't speak with too much knowledge about the issue but as Cerberus is being presented to us, as just the bad guys you shoot at that aren't husks, leaves me feeling indifferent to the fate of the group, if not hostile to them. So Cerberus as a whole seems pretty unsavable though I am still partial to the elements that we have been exposed to, TIM and the Normandy crew.

If they're savable or redeemable or whatever, coolio. But hopefully I just have no idea how Cerberus is operating in ME3

Godwin's Law on BSN without it refering to Cerberus? Blasphemy and madness.

TIM and Cerberus have always been willing to push the "stupid" envelope in order to get what they want.

I don't think it's not in the character's nature to do what he does in ME3. We're just seeing the ugly-ugly side of him now; the extent of his mad ambition.

I think it's safer to say Bioware have always been willing to push the stupid envelope. Cerberus is their antagonist clay.

His motivations are fine as is his end goal for ME3, the problem is the way they've made him go about it is completely pants-on-head retarded and just as much of a hinderance to him and cerberus as it is to everyone else.
