ME3 still not real armor/helmets for companions?

What immersion? We're talking about the 22 century here, they don't need large helmets to breathe in hazardous enviorments.
So why did they need them in ME1? Why do apparently all the squadmates apart from Liara need them in ME3?

I hope everyone does now understand that without ME1 Armor Suit (at least), you are dead in 3 minutes if you walk/fight in non-atmosphere condition and space.
If that wasn't clear to everyone, specially people who buy science fictions games, it would be a sad sign for humanity indeed.

edit: agree with above post!
At no point do I remember any missions in ME2 having an actual spacewalk happen for the squadmates meaning no situations in an absolute vacuum (legion and the heretic station maybe but no air doesnt mean no atmosphere). Yes, some missions could be theorized as having "unbreathable atmosphere" but not "no atmosphere". Those masks that a few folks on the team have provide oxygen which is really all you need.
In space your blood WILL NOT BOIL because the elastic pressure of the blood vessels
keeps it at a pressure high enough that the body temperature is below
the boiling point of blood (same as water) which is like 212 F. Skin is meant to be a badass and deal with hazardous condtions otherwise we would have all died a long time ago.
In space you WILL NOT FREEZE because a vacuum is nothing and you can't take the temperature of nothing. Heat transfer from the human body to space would take a long time because there is no matter in space to transfer that energy (heat) too. A vacumm is actually a really good insulator and your body temp would actually rise slightly and staying cool would be your problem but this why the body sweats to regulate heat.
Decompression would be the only issue and thats if you hold your breath and get "the bends", something some divers get.
Again because none of the missions are confirmed in an actual vacuum some of this science I used can disprove the whineing I see. If it bothers you too much then DON'T PICK THEM FOR THAT MISSION.
This guy is right. Seriously people, Total Recall wasn't a documentary. As long as you have a breather and aren't exposed directly to solar radiation while in actual space, you'll be fine. ME2 is more correct about this then most of you all are, it seems.
Read more if you want.
You have to be kidding....Yes you don't explode but you get horribly injured and die either way. How about you read the link your self?
And it's not only space.
Lets go for a trip to the arctic. You can wear spandex while I wear something everyone that goes there and comes back wears. Or lets go to that planet that is covered in toxic green fog in ME2. You will probably be comfortable with the stuff in your eyes and skin pores.
You see all those fantasic locations, have their magic taken away when the game suggests that every place in the galaxy is just as cosy as your home.
It is astonishing that something that blatant has to be explained.
With the attitude of it`s just a game it will probably be normal for Call of duty 14 to take place on the ground of the ocean, but soldiers and terrorists or evil russians still wear the same outfits and walk normally.
And "don't pick them for that mission" is horrible game design. You don't always know what you encounter and what if the person that refuses to dress properly would be an expert in that situation otherwise. Why can you, as the commander not order them to put on something that atleast allows for the illusion of protection.
It's not whining when people refuse to let the media industry get dumber every day, until everything that is left is crap like Jersey Shore to entertain and eventually form us.
Games, just like movies or TV are not only entertainment. We are in a time where kids (and beyond) often get more information from media than school. It is careless to produce stupidity, because it reflects on society more than many people realize.

Yeah, it doesn't make much sense in some (a lot) of situations, but I have no problem letting it slide. Realistic outer space combat is not really what ME is trying to sell. And yes, this decision probably has been made for an aesthetic reason, but... meh.... Honestly I prefer looking at Liara (or Miranda in ME2) like she is, rather than just strapping her up with half a tank for realism's sake. These types of things never really bothered me in video games (or movies, or any type of fiction).
That being said, I do get where y'all are coming from with the issue, and I hope it does get fixed in the end product so you can enjoy it as much as I can. I know one or five things about Immersion breaking (stares at Skyrim).

......miranda is returning, but not as a squadmate...
and she did have armor, if you got the alternate appearance pack.
I'm not sure her regular outfit wasn't meant to be armor. Note that much of Jacob's outfit is the same stuff. Of course, it'd be nice if she wasn't showing so much unarmored cleavage, but if Samara's been able to get away with that for centuries.....
They stated in the art of the mass effect universe that the reason they could show so much with Samara is because of her kinetic barrier, which is most of her protection. Her armor is just for clothing.
Yeah, Miranda wasn't protected enough, but I don't see the point in making a big deal about it now, as she's not going to be going out and fighting anymore anyways.

Lucas didn't do it then. He wasn't directly involved in the production of ESB._symphony wrote...

Today he'd probably just have them put on a tutu.
