Especially his 10 minute recaps of the first two games. Those are amazingly well made, cinematic. Closest thing to a Mass Effect movie!

Good for him to be able to use that music on youtube and because of that music to make something epic, because EA doesn't get that kind of freedom with their own trailers ( they either have to pay for + royalty or make it themselves ). The launch trailer will be better I bet, much better.

The launch trailer will probably be better true, but you can't deny he did a great job with the clips that have been released so far. It's the best ME3 fan trailer I've seen.

He's talented, I will give him that, but I know someone who's better and she deserves a spot in the marketting department when it comes to her editting prowess. if she gets a job editting for bioware this guys should be right behind her.Paula Deen wrote...
I'm not kidding, this guy has even improved rather quickly over time. He's got some serious talent and a love for the ME-verse.
And this trailer, though I know it's all somewhat subjective, seems to have the best overall feel and blend to it; it's got plenty of action, just enough exposition, emotional and dramatic moments, excellent editing, intruige and implied mysteries, outstanding music selection/editing, and even subtle things to it that add to the rewatch value.
Please tell me you guys agree...or, if not, why not?
EDIT: Just to be clear, I'm NOT the guy who made that trailer and I don't even know the guy's real name (or know all that much about him period, when I think about it). I just think he's that good.
Who are you talking about, if you don't mind me asking? I know there ARE other trailer-makers out there who make amazing stuff, but I'm of the belief that getting one of these few hired will make it easier for the other few.
Also, imagine what MikkroBitti could do with access to footage from 90% of the game, raw dialogue audio, and other tools?

This is more a testament to what MikkroBitti can do with a very limited amount of (largely outdated) footage and blended dialogue.
The launch trailer team has access to the entire game, raw dialogue audio, the entire ME3 soundtrack/composing team, and other exclusive tools/resources.
Not to mention, you know, having a TEAM of people getting paid to make it. This guy (or girl) is doing it by himself, on his free time, without any pay. Imagine what he could do with the above mentioned resources?
Also, I'm not so sure about the launch trailer's quality. Given the previous official trailer's...rather abysmal reception, I'm just not sure.
ME2's trailer was great, though it did have several issues: it was absolutely loaded with spoilers, resorted to cliche love scenes (with MIRANDA, no less...), and also used (custom made) a major cliche line with over-the-top delivery.

You make it sound as if you can slap a cool soundtrack on anything and it will be great, but that is not so.
Sure, it definitely helps to have a strong song, but it's the way the trailer was edited and the mood conveyed that really made it awesome.
Obviously, there were a few slight issues, but so it is with anything fan-made. The official launch trailer will be great no doubt, but this is very good for an unofficial trailer.

Constructive criticism - the end tapered off a bit - but best fan trailer I've seen.

Companies now have trailer teams? I thought they had cinematic departments, who you know make all the in-game cinematics from scratch.
Say what you will about the launch trailer of ME2 ( the original one. I know the PS3 one is bad ) but that thing is the best made ME2 vid out there.

A trailer like that generally takes a dozen or so hours to make. I know since I've done quite a few tribute/trailer/music videos myself ( This for instance ). A song is one of the most important aspects when you are making one, since you use the song as the base for the feel of a video and build everything on top of that and most of those hours are spent agonizing over single segment of a video to make sure they fit in perfectly.
I am not saying it's a bad video, it's good, but the creator doesn't deserve that much praise for it as to say be hired by Bioware. Who are a hell lot more talented since they don't have the freedom to pick whatever song they want.

I don't know why people like these fan trailers. They just show things we've already seen in other trailers in a different sequence and different (and often over-used) music.
At least he didn't use Lux Aeturna or Propane Nightmares.

Yours is good too but the one which originated this thread is better. One, because using a default Shepart relates to most players and two, he got real lucky, let's call it that, with his sequencing of the clips. It fits better than any other fan made trailer I've seen, heck, better even than some official trailers I've seen.
But I would never make a fan clip and credit it to me with some "I proudly present". That's like if P.J. had put "A Peter Jackson's film" at the start of each LotR movies, like many other directors do. He had so much respect for Tolkien's work that he didn't dare to put it as if it was his film, and it was not.
I've been dealing with music for some 40 years now and I know there is a lot of jealousy between musicians. Not all of them but it is there. I try to support and encourage any good one I find out there. I feel no jealousy of them. I feel great admiration for them and whish they can make it all the way, whereas I have not and don't care much about it for myself.
But I can see that same feeling all over YouTube and in any area of life. It is human nature. Gladly, it is not a rule but rather an exception. The rule is when we see someone making something great, we cheer for them, we wish them success and if it means a job on BW, so be it. That guy might give some great contribution to the story-board creation because he has a feeling for sequencing it which is outstanding.
Of course the bigger credits in any fan made videos should always go to the people who actually made the cinematics from scratch. They are really the awesome ones and that is something which I don't see credited very often.
