It's just a funny word I picked up from some Brits, really no insult intended. I'll edit it anyway.
You may make fun of mine though. ;)

uploading of my vfx tutorial seems very slow. It's only a 2.5 meg file. Maybe this is a busy time of day for the Nexus.

The servers are in the UK, so that might be it? How slow is slow? I can upload 100mb in about 10 minutes.

I didn't time it, but it did upload. You can see almost exactly what speeds based on my underground skydomes. I started uploading the file immediately after creating the entry (still not fully uploaded yet).

Maybe it's just me, as I see several modules already on there.

Is there a way to add formatting code to entry descriptions?

The speed seemed to be fine earlier when I was up loading stuff. We'll see what happens with Risen Hero, it close to the max file size.

Mokah: The descriptions use BBcode, like this forum. It's essentially the same as HTML, except you use square brackets instead of angle brackets.

I will also add that uploading is very, very simple. It's nice!

Not having the 25mb max file upload is great. This makes posting so much easier as well as updating.

You had to tell her didn't you?  Now she's going to make all the text pink!

Added a tutorial, some files and scripts to the Nexus database.
Later this weekend, I'll see about adding some terrains for ppl to use.

...DarkOne- good job!

So, I was taking a look and there are some modules of the ones uploaded that I've already played. I'd endorse them, but it seems that I have to download them first. Couldn't that restriction be removed? Also, I accidentally clicked on the "vote for me" button.:P I don't know if that action can be undone, but not really a problem either way.

I can't seem to upload anything I hit submit and it says your file is uploading at the top and something about google chrome but there's no sign of anything happening and if I move from that page it's all gone again with all the boxes blank when I return..

Any ideas ?

You should have to download, it prevents abuse. It's a little unweildy since this is previously released content, but the purpose is right.

Wow, 29 files already, great stuff :)

I'll leave this another 24 hours, until tomorrow some time (I'm due to go out tonight so hungover site launch tomorrow...."yay"!), and then I'll announce it on all the Nexus sites for everyone to see :)

Does your browser give you any indication a page is loading? Like when a site is slow to load and you can see an icon turning, that indicates something is happening? If so, the upload is working, you've just got to wait for it to finish.

If not, there's an issue. What browser are you using?

Dark0ne- First of all I must say I'm impressed it's all looking good so many thanks to you for this. I really like the idea people can post screenshots as I've always wanted to see who battled through my mods. Also the endorsement part is something I've always liked rather than votes so I'm very happy. Only thing is I'll have to play through my first mod as I've lost the screenshots and it takes over 20 hours so it'll be a while before it arrives.

Now on to the problem in hand..

The little blue circle thing is spinning in the tab but that's about it, my browser runs through a McAfee security window so I don't know what it is. I've typed in the same thing and submitted a few times now so does that mean I'm uploading loads of the same file ?

A really simple way to test if the upload is working for you is to:

- Set your file to hidden so no one else can see it. Do this in "Edit attributes" (for the file you are hiding) and look for "Hide the file from public viewing". Set to "Yes".
- Create a dummy .txt file with one word in it.
- Zip the .txt file up (as the site doesn't accept .txt files!)
- Upload it to your file

If that works, then uploading for you works. Remember to delete your test file!

When you go to upload larger files you just need to click the submit button and then wait, it may take a very long time depending on the size of your file, your upload speed, and your distance from the web servers (that are in the UK).

Hope this helps. And remember to "un-hide" your file after your upload has finished!

Haha, the servers are in Kent so you're probably the closest person to the servers in this thread!

I ran the test and it went straight through so I guess I'll just have to blame O2 for being useless I could be in Kent in about twenty minutes ! I'd have probably got the first part done by now if I hadn't fiddled about with it so much but we live and learn so nobody will be touching this computer for a while.

Anyway great job and thanks for the help hopefully my second mod will be up soon too.
