Currently we have DMFI friendly, AME ( academy of modding excellence ), and I kind of informally have ADL compliant for haks being used by the PWs, but there is also CEP, project Q and quite a few groups.
Tags are in a way keywords, and having run a search engine, well user entered keywords just don't compare to search results adjusted by the webmaster even if all the end users are not trying to game the search results, there always is the problem of whether those keywords are generally agreed to be applicable, or perhaps uploaders are just not good at categorizing their stuff. ( search engines for example won't even use keywords on web pages ). So in a way this is aimed at giving another means of tagging things in ways which end users can grow to trust more.
Now who gets a tag, should a module be "DMFI friendly" if the author spent 30 seconds adding code from them and it's support for DMFI is for the most part broken, or the author does not support it at all but it works great nevertheless - I am thinking the real final arbiter should be the members of the actual DMFI team who would be the experts. Basically it should be self regulated, and users would grow to trust a given tag just like they'd trust a given users content, the guilds would have to Vett whatever they tag.
Now how it works, well it could be many ways i think ( not particular ), even no actual system except agreed upon that authors talk to a certain group and ask permission prior to tagging their things AME award winner. But implemented as an actual system, well authors could hit a button and apply for usage of a given tag and only have that tag show up when approved by said guild. It could be a free for all, but guild members could remove their tags when needed. And it could be entirely done by the guild, and guild members could spend their time tagging content with the correct tags. Even making making guild leaders moderators of course.
Now this is just an idea, probably a lot of work, and up to others if they like it or not - won't happen anytime soon unless the nexus already supports this sort of thing. At the moment the community is pretty good about this sort of thing, and we can talk to the site admins to fix issues, i just thought of a model which would be a lot more self regulating and acheive quite a few good results if it were in use as a system.
Ok back to other projects and seeing if i can get this NMM thingy working on a mac

For some reason, all of the activity is currently in the NWN2 section, and there's no activity in the NWN1 section yet. I posted announcements in two of the NWN1 subforums here. I've also written to the NWN podcast to let them know about the opening. If that news appears in the next podcast, there should be some activity from people who may not necessarily view these forums very often.
They will come around, the games are so similar it's silly to not implement them both at the same time. Some projects like skywings script compiler are actually things that work for both ( and i think that might work on dragon age and the jedi titles bioware did that use similar tech to NWN1 )

Hi guys, sorry for not launching the site today. Had a bit of a rough night last night, and very little sleep, so decided it might be best to post-pone the launch until I could muster the willpower to write out the announcement news in Word! There's no reason why it shouldn't be tomorrow, and I'm looking forward to it

I am so upset by this that I'm going to tint everything pink!
...wait, I was going to do that anyway...carry on I guess.

Some of the tags have already been added but I need to update the revised list, which I'll do some time today.

Just a note on Vault submissions.
I've started helping Maximus out over there.
If you are still having problems, PM me here and I'll see what I can do. For now, I'm mostly just getting submissions approved and (in the case of the large files) associated correctly.
I am much more active in the NwN1 forums, but a PM will reach me anyway ;-)

This also relates to PWs that use the ADL, so they could link to their own sites/forums. I don't remember if this was asked somewhere on the thread.

You'll be happy to know that the site is currently pushing over 5,000 uniques a day, not bad for a 48 hour old site. A lot of info is trending on the Icewind Dale remake across the various RPG forums (like Codex, Sorcerer's Place, GameBanshee, etc.), but if you're on the fence about uploading your modules because you're not sure if it'd be worth it, now's probably the time to get on it.

I wonder if slowdive_fan/someone else should let the good people at Rock, Paper, Shotgun know about the Icewind Dale remake? It seems like a story they'd run (they like indie and mod stuff), and their audience is huge.

And I decided to take advantage of it... my scripts are now cross posted. We'll see if this produces any benefit.

hate to see what would happen if purgatorio could get released... Sad thing is they hired monty who was doing it to work on Storm of Zehir which really took a lot of the wind out of the sails of that project ( but it really helped make SOZ fantastic ).
No worries! Plenty of time for them to pick up the slack and get it released! Can't wait!
