Ashley dead, not so much anti Ash, just pro Kaidan.
The only person I wanted to kill off in two had plot armor on (Liara). Here's hoping I needed a living sacrifice to keep others alive in 3 anyway.
I guess if there was one other character I could, just for not being bothered about seeing him again it'd be Jacob, his loyalty mission did nothing for me or his character development. Jack as an example made me go from hating her to loving her.

Most Enemies with a chance of living have survived me, I really hope to see Helena again I loved her voice and demeanor. Although wonder if I'll regret tombs living and finding out about my brief stint with cerberus but still hold it against me even though they want me dead too now.

I still don't get the Jacob hate. He really isn't that bad a guy.

I always kill Kaiden over Ashley in ME1. He's just bland and boring.

I did a perfect run of ME2, but I've also killed some squadmates in other playthroughs (Tali, Zaeed, Garrus, Legion, Jacob, Mordin, Thane) to see the different outcomes in ME3.

No. I was going to kill Miranda off at one point, but then she flipped off the Illusive Man when I told him what to do with his "support." After that, I just couldn't do it. The only other companion I've even considered losing is Zaeed, but considering he can get a clue...nope, not him either.

I don't either.  Was going to say the same thing.  Now Zaeed does nothing for me.  He's old and bitter in my opinion; mostly bitter.

Now for Vermire survivor, I generally picked Ashley over Kadin regardless of male or femshep.  Personal preference.

Waitwaitwait, Kasumi is more evil than... Zaeed? O_o

Maybe Evil isn't entirely the right word, but that was implied by the quotation marks. And did I mention my FemShep is a man-hater?

Also, I left out the part where I didn't want any of the males to survive. Wrex got a pass in ME1 because somehow he was a cool character. Also, his species is more open to female warriors.

When trying to join his clan, the concern wasn't for Shepard being female, it was because of her being a human. But when she shows that she's as tough as a krogan, they back off. And if their own species wasn't dying, I'm sure they'd be far less protective of their females. So that's why, despite my Shepard being a man hater, in my Insanity run I decided to kill off all the males then out of the females left, I decided Kasumi and Morinth were the more morally abiguous if not straight out, evil female characters.

Oh, I would have killed Harkin if they allowed me to, hopefully we finally can in ME3.

You're so flamboyant when you're perturbed.

I don't have any qualms with any of the squadmates, so you suck instead.

I killed kaidan. I find Ash very annoying too but more usefull then kaidan. In Mass effect 2 I intentionally killed jack just becouse I don't want no goddamn psychos on my ship!

I never intentionally kill anyone. I prefer to be surprised during the suicide mission so I don't spend much thought on it prior. I just recently got the achievment "No One Left Behind" (on like my 10th playthrough) so I guess I've always, prior to that, lost someone.

Crew that I recall losing in different playthroughs

Garrus (that sucked)
Tali (multiple times. Double sucked)
Legion
Jack
Thane.
Grunt

Have never lost Miranda or Jacob for whatever reason

If it was just for usefulness. I'd gone for Kaidan. Ashley couldn't do anything but shoot, Kaidan could decrypt/unlock stuff, if I recall right.

How frequently have you lost Mordin? If you're going in hot and unprepared like that regularly, I'd imagine fairly often unless he's always been your crew escort. He dies pretty easily.

On my insanity playthrough i didn't do zaeed or kasumi's loyaltie missions. On the suicide mission I sent kasumi back with the crew.....she died, but in a good way, she saved the crew and now she's with her thief boyfriend. Oh I wanted zaeed to die also but he survived.

It's all relative. What jmaster said could have applied quite so for his/her runs if his/her Shepard was an Engineer of Infiltrator or Garrus always tagged along. Or Tali for that matter. Thus, Kaidan would be less useful in the regard you're mentioning.

Similar token: you might play a Soldier regularly, in which case Ash might seem more useless, what with her fast firepower and Immunity and... all the things you have already. In which case Kaidan seems better, especially if you aren't bringing Garrus or Tali.

It's all relative.
