I never intentionally kill anyone. I prefer to be surprised during the suicide mission so I don't spend much thought on it prior. I just recently got the achievment "No One Left Behind" (on like my 10th playthrough) so I guess I've always, prior to that, lost someone.

Crew that I recall losing in different playthroughs

Garrus (that sucked)
Tali (multiple times. Double sucked)
Jack
Thane.
Grunt

Have never lost Miranda or Jacob.

How frequently have you lost Mordin? If you're going in hot and unprepared like that regularly, I'd imagine fairly often unless he's always been your crew escort. He dies pretty easily.

If I've ever lost Mordin, probably no more than once since I don't recall it. And he's never been part of my 3 man team during the suicide mission because he's just not.......uh......lethal enough.

He was the ONLY one who died repeateadly at my first playtrough. So you know what I did? I just sent him with the crew. Problem solved.

I killed kaidan. I find Ash very annoying too but more usefull then kaidan. In Mass effect 2 I intentionally killed jack just becouse I don't want no goddamn psychos on my ship!

If it was just for usefulness. I'd gone for Kaidan. Ashley couldn't do anything but shoot, Kaidan could decrypt/unlock stuff, if I recall right.

It's all relative. What jmaster said could have applied quite so for his/her runs if his/her Shepard was an Engineer of Infiltrator or Garrus always tagged along. Or Tali for that matter. Thus, Kaidan would be less useful in the regard you're mentioning.

Similar token: you might play a Soldier regularly, in which case Ash might seem more useless, what with her fast firepower and Immunity and... all the things you have already. In which case Kaidan seems better, especially if you aren't bringing Garrus or Tali.

It's all relative.

I kind of like the overkill of two soldiers. My sheps teamed up with Ash quite often in ME1. But yeah I realize I wasn't being practical. But BEASTING is fun. Posted Image

Heh, on my first playthrough EVERYONE lived, I didn't use guides or anything. It all just seemed like common sense to me. It was only on subsequent playthroughs when I started experimenting that Mordin died, but that only happened once.

To be fair, so do I. I was just... trying to come up with examples. :P

Never intentionally, but I have gotten people killed on my first ever play through (didn't know you needed upgrades / roles to pick people for)

Ever since then, everyone has always survived.

Jacob. I purposely screwed up my final mission so he, and he alone, would die. Can't stand him.

I have an alternate playthrough where I keep all the 'renegades' alive, one where I keep all the 'paragons' alive, one with favourite-characters-only surviving, and one with female-only survivors.

I would say that all those people I blasted away with my assault rifle were killed specifically. As for actual characters? No, I love everyone. Except you OP.

Miranda and Simara.

I felt pretty indifferent about both and I wanted a few people to die on the suicide mission.

Just to brag, my first playthrough of ME2, I got the No One Left Behind Achievement without any spoilers or strategy guides.

And I orchestrated the two deaths I was aiming for without any spoilers or strategy guides. Honestly, I feel like given how easy it is to get that achievement, I did something more profound. :P

I never talked to Jacob on one of my playthroughs and ordered him to lead the second fire team (the one that happens during your long walk through the swarms). He took a shot to the gut and died. Oops.

Never liked Jacob anyway...although during my current playthrough of Galaxy I find myself hating him less...

But now, I'm curious. Who did you want to die, why, and how did you do it?

The team's lives are linked to my shep.

When I decide to lose someone, everybody who can die dies, including my shep.
And when I want to live, everyone lives.

I made the purge of my team so successful that people who would have died in the 2nd fire team shot survived.

Zaeed. My main Shep (paragon) was felt that he was way much of a liability and when he nearly got everybody killed on Zorya for his own reasons; Shep left him to burn.
